Well, I'm very sorry to hear that. I think the map of the whole country is interesting on itself but it's -afaik- impossible to put it literally in your pocket, if that was the assumption, in a physical format.

The volcano, mentioned in the title, it's -again imho- well represented in the notebooks.

Hi The Cappy,

As it's mentioned in the article the digital map was made as initial proof-of-concept for the contour lines generation workflow. You can access it freely at http://iceland.cartodb.com/.... We plan to open source the vector data generated for each island once it's made so everybody can reuse it on their own work and maps.

Although we used exactly the same opendata based workflow for the notebooks, the format of a pocket notebook is very constraining and it's simply impossible to pack the detail of a whole country on its cover, but I think that does not decrease the beauty of the notebooks in their own context and scale. In fact the texture created by letterpressing the isolines fits very nicely with the smaller, more restrained design we use in the cover.

Additionally, as I mentioned to Smitha, we are exploring the possibility of creating high-quality prints for the maps in a bigger format to capture the incredible beauty of these lines. I would love to know if you'll be interested in something like that?

I know that you can search for ISBN, but please think about my (envisioned) approach:

- I don't want the product page, I want *the digital edition* (aka reduce friction)
- I want the service to be fair to bookstores (aka referral fees).
- I want the service to be multi-silo (aka finding digital editions that are not kindle)
- I want to give bookstores insight on the evolution of their customer base (aka dashboard with metrics).
- And finally remember this has been created in the "rumble context" and the copy/paste approach is a 100% circumstantial choice (aka native app with isbn scanning, aka arduino device for instant interaction with physical books , aka xxxx....)

I know that there are multiple workarounds for doing the same thing, but at the same time I think there is a lot of value in the approach detailed.

Desgraciadamente sin acceso a los logs del operador poco se puede investigar o "buscar" como dices. Sobre el símil, bueno... mejor ni me canso en desmontarlo.

Yes, I know this only the "Final proposed recommendation" date, but I found completely absurd that W3C keeps even talking about this kind of timelines.

I'm afraid this just another example showing how W3C simply don't understand the real nature of the Web.

En el hilo de lo que comentaba Fernando, siempre me ha parecido interesante e inquietante que la inmensa mayoría de servicios de Internet estén basados de una u otra manera en la publicidad... da la impresión de que el medio es únicamente un gran cartel anunciador y que lo más loable que se puede decir del mismo es que de vez en cuando en una esquina del cartel hay algo que nos nos disgusta... demasiado.

En ese sentido hemos tenido claro desde el principio es que los productos y servicios que nos interesa construir como medio de vida (a.k.a comer todos los días y pagar las facturas) deben seguir un modelo mucho más tradicional – bastante antiguo de hecho: Crear algo que facilite la vida de nuestro clientes y cobrar por esa mejora. No se en que punto se perdió este modelo de negocio tan sencillo -y lógico- o si nunca llegó a entrar en Internet.

@Naruedyoh No hay ninguna cifra que sea más subjetiva que un precio. Emociones, percepciones, usabilidad, utilidad, sentirse identificado en el producto... mil conceptos que se acumulan detrás de ese numero. Creo que no hay regla de oro, pero siempre puedes utilizarte a ti mismo como baremo y encontrar a los clientes que se encuentre en tu mismo "rango".

Muchas gracias Alvaro de parte de todo el equipo que ha desarrollado parlio.org. Estamos muy contentos con el trabajo realizado en estas 48 horas y para nosotros independientemente de los resultados del jurado ya hemos ganado... porque hemos puesto a disposición del público una herramienta útil en muy poco tiempo, con casi ningún recurso y haciendo frente a la imposibilidad de acceder a los datos de una manera estructurada.

En los próximos días tendremos un pequeña parada, puesto que como sabes las reglas del concurso impiden hacer ningún cambio al código y/o a la instalación del mismo hasta que haya un veredicto sobre los premiados.

Sobre parlio.org simplemente recordar que dadas las limitaciones de tiempo solo hemos importado la actual legislatura e integrado/estructurado el 60-70% de la información disponible. El acercamiento que hemos hecho también ha sido únicamente de "visualización" de la actividad dejando la interacción (¿he oído comentarios y anotaciones en las intervenciones e iniciativas XD?) para más adelante por un tema de tiempo/recursos.

Estamos deseando ver como hacemos para conseguir más y mejores datos para construir servicios públicos encima de ellos, mejorar parlio y construir nuevas iniciativas. Y deseando comentar contigo esas ideas que te/nos rondan la cabeza sobre como ayudar a generar una política más social y cercana gracias a la tecnología.

Aunque no he podido acudir a las Sidar (vi los carteles en el metro pero no todos tenemos unos jefes tan permisivos XDDD), entiendo que a lo que se referia Manuel Lobato es a que el termino discapacitado este relacionado en nuestra psique con ciertos estereotipos (manco, ciego, sordo, sindrome de down,etc...) que se reducen a un espectro muy reducido. Y la verdad es que como cita ibon los cantidades cualitativas y cuantitativas de una discapacidad son SIEMPRE muy amplias. No se trata tampoco de, como citas, equiparar dispacidades sino de abrir los ojos a aquellas que no creemos tales. Por seguir con las analogias Chan podriamos decir que tienes que vaciar tu cuenco para llenar tu cuenco.

Y es con ejemplos como los que pone Ibon cuando percibimos estas diferentes realidades. Si un arquitecto cambia el paso de peldaño de una escalera de, digamos, 0.21 m a 0.17 m ¿ no hemos mejorado la calidad de vida de personas que antes quizas no hubieramos considerado discapacitadas?. Y, si esto es asi, ¿ que diferencia hay con que un diseñador aumente el punto de la fuente de su web?.

Siempre habra quien prostituya palabras como accesibilidad, y sin embargo esto no debe evitarnos al menos recapacitar si no somos todos más discapacitados de lo que pensamos.
