The Plantronics were better for communication in "minimal office noise" type of environments but just as bad as the QC30 for communication in louder offices, airports, etc. The noise cancelling was also noticably weaker ok flights. So, for me, as a traveler, the Plantronics was a miss at the $300 price point. But, if I were just using them in a office environment, I'd likely prefer these over the Bose.

@Geoffrey Morrison I bought the Bose QC30's a year ago, primarily based on the wirecutter recommendation here and while it was excellent at noise cancellation, it was utterly useless as a communication device (at least in any environment where noise cancellation comes into play). As a frequent traveler and someone who works in loud environments, it was nearly impossible for my callers to hear me over the background noise the QC30 picked up during active calls.

I see that Plantronics just released it's first neckband Jan 2018 - the Voyager 6200 UC. On paper, it seems to have a great blend of noise cancellation and communications features. It's the same price as the QC30 ($300 list) so I'd love to see this added to your analysis in the future.

Have you run into the situation mentioned in this review:
"Here’s the catch: YouTube TV replaces recordings with on-demand streams when possible, and the on-demand versions don’t allow ad-skipping. In those cases, expect to sit through about a minute and 30 seconds of ads for each commercial break, which tends to line up with the breaks in the live telecast."

Has anyone been able to find a way to skip ads on DVR'd shows with the Youtube TV service?

That's the only thing holding me up. Some of the more in-depth reviews I've seen mention lengthy ads and no way to skip them, even on DVR'd shows. I have FIOS and for the stations I watch on TV it is competitively priced so I don't see myself switching unless ads can be skipped.

Things have been quite on the Android front for the last 4-6 weeks and the mobile roadmap seems to end at Q3 2016 (doing my best not to be the guy asking for an ETA on an Android update!)

I'd like to see an option for the hoverbar on the gmail inbox page to only include icons for the "Due Date" and "Waiting" functions so the bar isn't taking up so much space... on my small laptop screen, the bar often masks the entire subject when I don't have my gmail set to fullscreen.

There is a conflict between AIB and LinkedIn Sales Navigator Sidebar...

I have the sub notes set for 'align view horizontally.' When LinkedIn Sidebar is enabled, the sidenotes are not visible in horizontal view.

When an email is set to "waiting on -> indefinitely," I am unable to select "waiting on -> none" to cancel the waiting. However, if I select "wo -> today" first, I can then select None.

Within my conversation thread headers, the timestamps formatting is broken. Also, the 3-dot menu in the email threads are half cutoff.

How do I complete/archive a task/thread directly from the email thread?

I have some email threads where I've set the status to Next and have a ToDo and due date set. When I complete the tasks, I'd expect to be able to select a finish button, like the finish button available in the Inbox view. Am I missing a setting or something?

Agree, but hopefully in conjunction with a setting to enable the "cancel if they reply" by default.

My default rule when I set a waiting on date is to 'cancel if they reply' so I currently have to do two clicks before leaving the menu. The behavior you request would add another unnecessary click for me.

I have two gmail accounts (personal and google apps for work). I only use AIB with the work account but I get a AIB popup ever time I launch my personal gmail asking if I want to activate AIB6. How do I stop that popup??

The main menu, long press menus, toolbar selection lists, etc all have a 'non-Android' (iOS?) feel to them. I know it's an alpha and an iOS port, but can we assume that future releases will ahere more to the native Android menu and list look and feel?

I think coloring should be consistent across all platforms AIB runs on. On the desktop, todos, tags, etc are highlighted blue when set. And, overdue items are red.

Why does it make more sense to change that color scheme on mobile? Even if you're adhering to the strictest mobile UI practices, there's room for consistency of color - especially with Android's Material Design.

Minor UI Request: Is there a particular reason that the AIB toolbar buttons don't match the height of the gmail buttons (i.e., compose)? It's just a small cosmetic thing, but I think it would make AIB look even more "native" to gmail.

Confirmed that .56 resolved this. Additional tasks/notes feedback...

1) If I enter text into the Note section and then add a task before saving the note, I lose the note. Could you just have the notes save automatically as I type? Why the added step of having to hit 'save'? If I don't like what is saved, I can always use the undo option or just delete the text. This seems like a 'safer' approach to me.

2) What does the "Align Sub Tasks & Notes View Horizontally" I don't see any UI difference with it checked/unchecked.

In the AIB toolbar within an email, I'd like to see a visual indicator when a field (todo, folder, etc) has a value set -- just like the desktop version.

For example, if I have a todo date set, the toolbar should show the todo button as blue (or red if set but overdue), not grey. If no value is set, it should remain grey.

When I mark an email with 'waiting on', I generally want to also tag it for "cancel if they reply."

Notification Tweaks:

1) Most email clients offer actions (Archive Reply Delete etc) right from the notification. AIB should provide actions, but also make them customizable... i.e., from the notification, I should be able to trigger a "ToDo, Mark Complete, Tag, Delete, etc) action.

2) In most email clients, a notification is displayed with the following structure: "Sender Subject". In AIB, the notification is "ActiveInbox Sender Subject". The "ActiveInbox" tag for each message should be removed. Not only is it redundant with the notification header, but it also removes the ability to see the first line of the message without expanding the notification.

3) In Gmail, the sender icon shows a picture if I have the person in my contact list. The ActiveInbox email notification just show the AIB icon for each message. I prefer the Gmail method because it provides me a quick visual for known senders.

4) In Gmail, multiple emails are represented with a single icon in the notification bar. With AIB, this occurs sometimes, but other times I'm noticing that each email notification generates a new email icon in the status bar.

Please add a "ask before showing images" security option.

For people like me who receive a lot of email from new people and don't like my email opens to be tracked, this is a critical feature.

The coloring for active vs completed tasks in the beta throws me off. I'd prefer consistency between all the places I see tasks, open and completed (per the attached).

In the Inbox view, my eye is drawn to the blue text, but I'd much prefer to be drawn to tasks that have yet to be completed.

My preference would be that completed tasks are shown with strikethrough everywhere, but at a minimum, I'd like to see completed tasks colored in light-grey. And, maybe have active tasks in standard black but "Next" tasks in blue. (point is -- some visual assistance that draws the eye towards open action items)
