Hi Tim,

Young Americans for Liberty has had a YAL-PAC for a while now. Granted, it does not have as much of an endowment as this one, but it exists and it has an infrastructure and similar goals of spreading the liberty movement.

There seems to have been a miscommunication: I never intended to have a "serious conversation" with you; I was mocking you.

After your detestable advocacy for the Libyan War, I do not think I can have a serious conversation with you. Much in the same way I can never bring myself to listen to or take seriously bigots, homophobes, and chauvinists, the idea of having a "serious conversation" with an unrepentant war advocate fills me with disgust.

The only difference between you and Ann Coulter is that she actually believes it is moral to bomb foreigners, whereas you are probably morally offended by it. That makes Coulter merely wrong... And you? Well...

I do want to address the subject of "evil." I have always thought that it is a sickness that is unique to George W. Bush supporters, the complete blindness to the supreme crimes our wars bring to this world. Alas, Americans' capacity for evil knows no party boundaries.

The mantra that lowering taxes will generate a specific desired outcome (jobs! investment!) is a fallacy. It assumes that these market forces can be influenced by any policy this government makes.

Lower taxes are good because it reduces the government's influence in the economy. Nothing more, nothing less.

You know what prompted McDonald's decision to offer McRib? It is not lower taxes. It is demand.

I am trying really hard to wrap my mind around this moralistic stance that you have taken... that we must intervene to avoid something that, for all intents and purposes, is pure speculation. At least, it seems that you are taking that stance. Are you taking that stance?

How about we deal with hard facts? NATO bombs killed Libyans. Whether or not our "humanitarian" intervention there prevented more deaths or less deaths or potentially shortened or lengthened the war is really irrelevant.

There can be no moral justification for this egregious crime, this war of choice, this unnecessary war regardless of any purely speculative outcome.

EDIT: Much in the same way that killing a potential serial killer is morally abhorrent regardless if he ultimately kills only one person or five or more.

The fact: innocent Libyans have died from NATO bombs. Whether one or 5,000 is rather irrelevant. So, I am not sure what you are asking.

Are you asking how many dead innocent Libyans I can tolerate before the war becomes unjustifiable? One.
