This would be informative if it had info on how much it was acquired for, who paid the money (since the article fails to mention both are already funded by Jabbar Internet Group) and what's in it for the employees?
Does Sukar.com have a vesting plan for the employees? Are they share holders?

Actually the Brotherhood have been galvanizing Social Media long before revolutionary rampage swept across the region. It was first brought to my attention when we at TNW set out to discover the most viewed Arabic video on YouTube, which to our surprise is a video telling the story of an Egyptian Ikhwan member imprisoned by the former Egyptian regime with more than 20 million views.

It makes sense. Journalists enjoy being the go-to source of news/analysis, Programmers enjoy being the go-to source of technical solutions. Combing the tools of these two trades results in a very talented person in knowing what's going on around them by solving most digital problems they could face.

Yet the title is misleading, and frankly redundant. Call them Digital Journalists. You certainly don't call a journalist that knows how to pick a lock Journo-robbers.

Considering the success and potential Groupon and similar businesses enjoy nowadays the first thing that came to mind was an opportunity: Client Applications that bypass email and get people deals from the merchant accounts! Brilliant! But than it struck me, who says I'll ever get a deal?

With merchant accounts who will verify their 'deals', because if it's Groupon they've just landed themselves more work than before, and it will only turn into a big virtual mall imhonsho. This will tank, or Groupon will. Not well thought through, not well thought through at all.

Damn, why did you get you guys get a 'custom' DMS? No one does that any more, the management overhead and maintenance cost more than the actual product.
What kind of technology is it built with? Are we talking about web/windows? SVN?CVS?

Dude all you need is a workflow designed for MS Office, not a biggie, it does cost more than Google Docs, but when you have it hosted in house it provides more security and is easy to use as it's integrated with Windows. When a blog goes under for more than 72hrs, its usually a massive DDoS attack, you did some work for respectable establishments like Maktoob, ask your ex-employers about it.

@Anas Hyperbole not really, in retrospect it was probably a coincidence, but reporting the potential outbreak was and is worthy if it could help other sysadmins in the region.

@Tarek: Its important to actually RTA, we clearly state "further data to support this has yet to surface." But if you feel you need a place to rant, your free to use your own blog, we here it has some articles worth reading from time to time. Not a total waste of time. Also you might want to do your homework, SalamBC is not an islamic website, but yes its founder is a muslim, and it serves a very large Arab user base, thus making it an Arab Network.

We highly appreciate feedback Tarek, but you might want to maintain a professional/respectable attitude while commenting. And while your blog is interesting, you should find more productive methods to get it traffic, like improving quality/quantity of content. Have a good one!
