I'm actually watching Supernatural now in order to see if Dean/Castiel is gayer than Jane/Maura. Somehow, I doubt it since Patrick went 'whuuuuuut?' when I told him that Jane and Maura are canonically straight.

Judging by the fact that both of us think that it is more gay than Lost Girl, yes, 42 minutes of Jane and Maura banging would be less gay than a standard episode.

I got to page three of the book - nooot a genre I'm a fan of, which is why I didn't bother with the show. One of my friends has been trying to tempt me by sending pics of one of the characters (K-something? Kah-something?) naked on twitter, though.

I did, however, know that the entire basis of ASOIAF is that everyone dies, though.

Yeah, pretty much all that. Also, did you read all of the blog post or did you just read the first bit and skim again? Cuz you basically said everything I said except with some different examples. Also, hilariously, I was going to put in the Tesla vs Edison thing but I totally forgot.

What really strikes me hilarious is that the fact that many people have the same ideas independent of each other is something readily admitted in art and literature. Pretty much the first thing you get told when you say 'awww, dammit, someone else wrote that first' is 'well, no idea is new so write it anyway'. And, yet, these same authors look at science and go 'wow, no one else could have ever come up with this idea!' and it just... agh. Makes me rage.

Why so dumb, people, why so dumb?

And why trash on the Greeks and the Romans so much? Also, the dark ages aren't as horrible technology/development wise as everyone makes them out to be. Lots of agricultural type development during that time. It's just not as exciting as aqueducts.

In the drenched in water scenes, it's definitely a camisole for at least one of them. It's pretty obvious, as the cami is black and her shirt is white.

It's not my fault! It's AT's for telling a silly story about how she kept running to her trailer and flashing her kid's nanny! I think she was doing that weird breastfeeding mother thing where your boobs only purpose is to feed your kid and why the hell would you think that they're attractive?

And, yes, that is theoretically possible.

Oooo, damn, now I want to watch the McKay in the leaking puddle jumper episode where he hallucinates Sam in a bikini. Which is doubly magnificent cuz, uhhh, weeeeell... AT kinda just had her kid and was still breast feeding.

Wow, the fact that I know that is kinda really fucking creepy. It's not my fault - she said it in a Women of Stargate interview with the SGU ladies. And since one was pregnant at the time, acting whilst pregnant came up.

Yup. And she also was too nervous to go invisible cuz she had to strip so she made Will get naked with her. And it wasn't (entirely) a ploy to see Will (mostly) naked.

I've always liked Rory (well, I never disliked him - I'm definitely in the love everyone camp for Doctor Who), but I really fucking love him in this episode. My god he was amazing. I can't believe people were actually trashing Rory for 'not showing emotion' when the Doctor died. Are you fuckin' shitting me? He judged the scene, realised that Amy was in shambles and that River should be allowed to grieve and not have to hold herself together for the others (cuz she woulda) and did the amazing - he looked past his own grief and did his best to protect Amy and River. My respect for him shot up a hundredfold at that.

I think everyone finally got who Rory is in this episode. He's really been solidified as a character now that he's a 2000 year old ex-plastic Roman.

I knoooow! The Doctor is such a jerk - I hope he goes back after there are no more spoilers and finishes the diary.

I'm actually looking for a replica of her diary, blank, filled, whatever.

After next week's episode, I'm going to go through and watch all of River's episodes from her perspective. Just cuz I know it's going to make me cry so much - the Angels two parter is now so fucking depressing - it's her last adventure with the Doctor knowing who she is and that is just... so terrible - she gets out of jail and, what? That's the end.

And River's speech to Rory about how she lives for her time with the Doctor and how she doesn't think she'll survive when he looks at her without recognising her? Oh god Moffat, you turned an already horribly sad episode into an epic tragedy. Now I'm forced to recognise that the brilliant River Song held onto denial about the Doctor not knowing who she is as long as possible... and then took her first chance at suicide. And I had done so much work to make sure that I didn't see those episodes for what they were!!

And the Doctor resurrecting her in the virtual world? It always struck me as so bittersweet, but now? Bwaaaah poor River. How can I cry so much over a character who I already know how she dies? God, there's something so magnificently horrible about the spoilers. And that the Doctor is going to run into a young River one day and that'll be the end of them from their perspective and and and...!

Also, I'm kinda depressed that no one filled in her last adventure with the Doctor in her diary. It's just... so incomplete.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently, okay??

No point in watching tv if it doesn't have at least one strong, prominent female character. Bonus points if it has more than one and they've got a bromance going on without the bro part.

Seriously, have I mentioned lately how pissed off it makes me that bromance is a fucking genre but there isn't a version for women? Rizzoli & Isles is the only thing I've seen that meets that criteria, ugh. Cuz, nooo, can't have a show/movie with multiple female characters - no one wants to watch that. Unless it's something like Sucker Punch. Which actually wasn't as bad as I'd thought it'd be - fetish fuel costumes, yes, but all sex in the movie was portrayed as either rape or rape via forced prostitution (and that rape is bad - sad that I have to make that distinction). Still, shoulda been a video game - I hate movies/tv shows that emulate the video game style - what's the point? You're just watching a giant cutscreen then. Cuz idk if movie producers have noticed or not, but game graphics are actually pretty fucking good now.

Also, that movie made me ship an incest ship. Dammit. They didn't act like sisters, okay??

I also have no desire to do any commercial writing. Commercial art is about the only thing I'd do, actually, and I absolutely suck at design and typography.

Though I still want to do forensics, so chem is still useful, it's mostly the double majoring thing that was stupid. Oh well, I guess.

It is surprisingly common in Western ~~literature~~ romance novels that rape trauma is cured by the rapist cuz he is really good at sex and the woman actually wanted it.

Less so now in published romance novels, but in fic...? There's a reason why I don't read non or dub con. Ignoring the fact that there is no such thing as dub con, cuz either there was consent or there is no consent. And consent must occur before the sex to count.
