I agree. And the 'informed' interviewees were poli-sci majors. It really is no surprise to me to see this happening after the Obama election. I think it is largely peer pressure/not really knowing better and incredible marketing and PR for Obama's campaign that is continuing today. I'm sure it was probably thought about strategically among his staff.

This afternoon, I was asked if I wanted to be interviewed on south Florida's NPR station. I promise to be more informed about whatever they want to interview me about. haha

I seem to cook the same dishes over again, mostly ones my old roommates and I took turns cooking. Rice or couscous is in most all of them. Maybe a rice cooker would help you. Or using boil-in-a-bag rice. It pretty much does it itself and produces the same result.

Ohhh yes!

It's funny, because in my community group that I am a part of, we just had excellent conversation about environmental stewardship and the Bible two weeks ago. We watched this short video which sums things up: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Genesis 1 and 2 give the most explanation for this, and it just shows that it starts from the beginning of creation! I read a book about two years ago called "Serve God, Save the Planet" by Dr. Matthew Sleeth (http://www.amazon.com/gp/se.... You can actually read some good portions of it on Google Books (http://books.google.com/boo....
It completely changed my mindset on things like this. We, as followers of Christ, are meant to respect the creation which has been given to us by God. This does not mean, worship it, or tyrannize and exploit it. We must be responsible and resourceful.

Whatever the case, narrowmindedness is a serious character flaw in my opinion.

(Sorry about all the funky links, but seriously check out the video, book, and Genesis 1 & 2 if you're at all interested. They do a much better job of explaining things than I do.)

Yeh these are some of my friends from Atlanta. Well, I mean old friends...people I know. They are all part of the same group. When Iam there and they are around, conservatism is ALL they speak of. I just leave usually.

I'm sure their idea behind it is the fact that they don't like the environmental movement taking the path towards worship of the earth. See, I don't think something like Earth Hour is anything in that direction. I think it might even be opposite. Earth Hour is more of a trendy thing that people do because their friends are doing it, you know.

I just don't understand some people and the way they think. Surely, people think the same as me, but at least I offer to bridge the gap sometimes...

I LOVE index cards. I use them for everything and I hate when they're not around when I need them. I use them right now for vocab for the GRE, but lately they've been turning into little pockets notes for myself.\

I'm not sure what I'd do without them, and I'm sorry you feel that way about them. ha

This was awesome Brent! You should pat yourself on the back for that. You are certainly not horrible person for doing something like that.

Just think...I probably shouldn't have stories about my landlord on the internets, but hey, she DID come ask me to google 'nozzle' remember. So I think we're good.
