Did you ever get embarrassed for someone when you were young and they had said or done something beyond stupid? Enter Nancy who is so out of it she doesn't know when to stop. Luckily this is her last time at the helm and then she can ride off into the sunset with her refrigerator of expensive ice cream never to be heard from again. I am counting the days.

This is the most idiotic idea ever. I get the part where a certain element wishes to dismantle this country limb by limb, but as they act in haste they will repent in leisure as throngs of citizens will stay home from the movies. If they push all of this bunk too far there will be a board determing their salaries to be excessive thus leveling out their pay in good Socialist fashion. Have none of these people cracked open a history book to see what repressive governments do to creativity and freedom of thought? I am only too glad to be 73 and to have lived through some great times. My Grandfather worked at MGM for 25 years and he would be sick. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Does anyone else believe that Nancy Pelosi has stayed at the dance a wee bit too long? Perhaps she ought to bow out gracefully before she injures herself or becomes totally "Bidenesque". Her comments about Senator Scott were reprehensible. Would that she were able to be ashamed. If Democrats were smart they would be involved in the police reform bill and put their mark on it thus claiming some credits for themselves. Too much to wish for.

I reserve the right to like Dave Chapelle and Laura Ingraham. I am 73 years old and a withering old 60"s kid. It is so sad to see otherwise talented people get way down in the dirt to make a point. Chapelle's calling Ingraham a c--- is just as offensive as using the n word. Neither are necessary and certainly don't move the ball down the field to a successful goal. Folks this is the only country we have. Why not attempt to solve situations instead of create more? Nikita Kruschev said many years ago they would take us over without firing a shot. There are too many willing fellow travelers mixed in with those who seek better. Be vary careful.

I am 73 years old. Wow ! How did this happen? I am a 60's kid. Unlike many of my era I watched in horror as the civil rights movement took form killing and destroying people, the Watts riot from my window, The Simbianese Liberation Army went on a tear, The Weather Underground, The Black Panthers, and listened to Malcom X drone on. Those anarchists failed to up end this society. They would have had you believe their only goal was equality. Their goal destruction. Enter Martin Luther King whose goal was to have each of us be judged not by the color of our skin but by our character. As difficult all of that was change ensued. Albeit slowly, but change nonetheless. I also watched in stunned silence how people were treated in the South. It became apparent to me I would not be very popular since growing up in a city full of diversity (as everyone says now) in California the hostility was so foreign to my senses. In my estimation race relations have degenerated over the past 20 years. I believe it does no good whatsoever to pit race against race. All these made up cliches "white privilege" and the like do nothing to bring people together. Has it dawned on anyone all of this strife is designed to destroy the underpinnings of this country? Ever hear of divide and conquer? Why do we let a bunch of antagonists up end all of the success achieved over time? Are there problems? YES. Are there inequities? YES .Will any of it be solved without each of us changing our hearts toward humanity. JFK said it best. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". Burning down the society adds nothing positive.

There is so much one could say about Pelosi and her statement. Where to begin? I have always heard people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. She claims to pray for the President all the time. Me thinks she needs a trip to the confessional for her judgmental comments. I am attempting very diligently to not attack her physically, but the urge is so great. All I will say is sometimes people do not know when to exit the stage gracefully. This is definitely at play here. After her tearing up of the State of the Union Speech ceremony I really began thinking she may be a taco short of a combination plate.

I cannot agree with you more. I am 73 years old and was born in Los Angeles and lived in CA all my life. Luckily my parents are not alive to see what has fallen upon the late great state. In fact my Grandfather and his brothers were instrumental in early racing circa 1907 on. They were pioneers such as yourself and are probably rolling around in their graves in horror. CA does not deserve you. When my husband finally retires we are headed to AZ.

EBT Card Lawsuit Against Albertson's
I couldn't believe my eyes when I was given the article about the Irvine resident who was demoralized after being asked if she wanted to use an EBT card. Three weeks ago my son and his family were here from Georgia. We spent a extended weekend in the desert. My son and his 10 year old child went shopping at Ralphs. The checker asked if my son wanted to use his EBT card. My son asked what it was and was told food stamps. At that point the checker was apologizing all over the place. My son replied "I guess I should have cleaned up my beard before shopping". Upon his return we all had a good laugh at his expense. Perhaps he should have filed a civil rights lawsuit because he is 1/4 Chinese. My son spent his entire growing up years in Irvine. I might add that I had children with a 1/2 Chinese man in the mid sixties and 1970. I used to get looks when we moved to Irvine in 1969. I just figured I was integrating the neighborhood and everyone would be better for my having done so. I shall finish by saying if you live your life by feeling slighted you will forever be slighted. Everyone needs to settle down and be ever so thankful we do not live in, let's say, Syria. One other note. Also be thankful you do not have to rely on an EBT card.
