Great article. I loved the fact that you are focusing on "serendipity". I have been working remotely for 2+ years now, and this is the only aspect of remote work I hate! :)

I built a Slack app for Icebreakers for exactly this reason. We want to replicate the spontaneous watercooler conversations that happen in office halls via fun Icebreaker questions. Feel free to add it to your article if you think your readers might find the information useful.

We have been around for 1+ years now, and used by 1000s of remote teams across the globe.

Keep up the great work!

Re: Quicksmart - UI Kit HTML5 Responsive Website Template

Thanks Craig - it would have been great to have a solution for mobile with horizontal scrolling. That is a great design and vertical tabs is not very good looking. There are some issues on safari at cards on careers page too. I have emailed the support. Will you please have a look?

Re: Quicksmart - UI Kit HTML5 Responsive Website Template

That's not really a helpful answer Craig. What will happen when the end user / visitor will do so? Also, please note that this issue is coming up in vertical mobile view! My screenshot is vertical ..

Re: Quicksmart - UI Kit HTML5 Responsive Website Template

Hi there is a problem with the horizontal tabs menu (the one shown on desktop app sample landing page). It looks fine on desktop, but the left most tab does not come up properly. I think it has something to do with the number of tab links.. looks ok in 2 tab links, but if I add 5 tab links then the left most one can not be seen on mobile at all (and neither can you scroll left to get there).

I really need a fix for this because its my main features section! But then what?

How many of us can present the next-big-ballsy-super impactful idea during a client pitch? In the end it ends up being SEM and ad networks because its measurable. Or it ends up being Facebook because its cheap and everyone else is doing it. And we all REALLY REALLY want the client to sign the big retainer.

I know I am ranting here too. But this problem is a never ending circle. Things will definitely change, our generation of 'ad'sters and our younger colleagues will slowly insert this into the marketing culture.

I think the problem is this:
Internet has made us possible to see the amount of funky and impactful campaigns in the west, whereas they can never be implemented in India right now. But lets not forget that all the other countries went through the same murky grounds of digital culture before it permeated into their daily lives.

In India, it will take some more time, which is just our bad luck.
Peace :)

Re: Why did we decide to shut down Superchooha and opt out of the agency model?

thanks for your feedback Kushal!

Re: Can you build a 100 crore business mining the Indian Railways data?

Theres a startup called Flightcaster which helps people predict when a flight will get delayed.
