DIY Lumber Cart

Very cool idea! I will be attempting to make this with a slight modification. I want to add a slot to be able to store full 4 x8 sheets of plywood as I usually have a couple lying around.I think if I make the bins on the side a bit more narrow, I can fit what I need in there.

Re: 365 Photography Project Day 72/365

Sorry! I should have included more information. Michelle Johnson is the instructor and you can find out about it here: http://lovethatshot.com/wor.... Really you could use anything, I don't know what you have for gear, but all I have is those two 800's and a couple 580EX II. You could get by doing it with 400s turned up higher.

Re: 365 Project Day 67/365

The plexiglass I got a while ago on a tip from Scott Kelby, so I luckily had it around. I got the bifold doors at a Menard's. It is a store like a Home Depot or Lowe's. I got two 36 inch ones and they were only like $27 each. Good deal for nice sturdy light modifiers! I am using AlienBees. I used 2 800s to blow out the background and a very small portable softbox on a hot shoe flash on camera right and then a 42 inch silver reflector on the left to light the flowers. That was one thing I really liked about the work shop. It was like Zack was teaching me how to use my equipment, because I use the exact same AlienBees (I have two 800s, but I need a 1600 yet), the exact same 5D Mark II and the same lenses he was using. It was great!

Re: 365 Project Day 67/365

Thanks! I actually used a piece of clear plexiglass on a white bench to get the reflection. I went out and bought some bifold doors for modifiers tonight and used those to help blow out the background, but I haven't been able to get the tile board yet. :) I did do a version with the white seamless lit to a nice medium gray and it was super cool that I could do it, but I think the flowers looked better on white. Much more of a fresh feeling to the image.

Re: 365 Project Day 61/365

Thanks!

Re: 365 Project Day 62/365

I read the same book by Scott. That is the effect I was looking for, but I don't have any strip light boxes yet. :) I am going to be ordering a couple when I get a little extra money.

Re: 365 Project Day 58/365

Thanks!

Re: 365 Project Day 58/365

Thanks! Just something different to deal with. I live in Wisconsin, and we get them every once in a while, but nothing like further south where all the storm chasers go to find tornados. This one was just really odd that there was no rain or anything before. Just instant really severe storm. There was a report last night on the news of a house that got tipped over, but I think that was the worst damage and no one was hurt, so that is the most important thing.

Re: 365 Project Day 58/365

Yeah, it has been a crazy weather night! Several reports of tornados on the ground. Some only miles from us. Never been this close before.

Re: 365 Project Day 52/365

I agree completely and it is very true of the couple as well!

Re: 365 Project Day 45/365

Thanks Tasra!
