I'm going to give it a shot as well. What is THE book or THE class to get started? I realize I'll never be a hard core coder - but I want to be able to mock things quickly. I want to try ideas out before telling myself that I need to pay someone a few grand to see what it might look like. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Definitely the direction I see PR going - and why it will continue to be meaningful (of course the publicist says that). Earned media at it's finest - and it starts with creative ideas for owned media.

If I were a VC (alas, not smart enough), I might even be so inclined to look at the benefits of a "dumb team." And no, I don't mean that literally. What I do mean is people who in no way feel privileged and have had to work for every single thing they've ever gotten. Now I know people who went to Harvard AND fit that category, but I also know talented, driven people whose college team didn't play in the Ivy's but the A10 or the Big Ten.

If I were a VC, I'd want a founder with a chip on his or her shoulder. Someone who is looking to prove their worth on a daily basis.
