There's NO SAFE LEVEL of lead in drinking water for children. "CDC reiterates the key message from the 2004 article: because no safe blood level has been identified for young children, all sources of lead exposure for children should be controlled or eliminated."

Honestly though, I think you should drink it.

Since when has a second or third grader committed a violent gun crime on purpose? These aren't "reasonable overreactions" as other commenters seem to think, but abuses of power against the oblivious. A five-year-old suspended 10 days for threatening to blow bubbles at another student - this is a crime? What about submitting a five-year-old to a psychiatric evaluation, isn't that more clearly a crime?

The point of this article is to prove to you bureaucracy at any level requires a lot of dumb, scared, power-hungry people working in concert to keep adding to an already broken system even more rules and laws that don't make sense.

Zero tolerance, regarding any aspect that isn't immediately threatening the safety of other students or the teacher, seems like one of these ridiculous mandates.

Fossilized hamsters are basically rocks. See, what happened was there was Petey, and there was a bar of soap. He and the soap melded, effectively trapping him in pleasant-smelling carbonite. As the years went by, holes opened up in the soap and other degraded matter that lived in my pocket found its way into the holes, replacing Petey with a Petey-shaped replica made of rubber and plastic and spare change. The soap evaporated, as it is wont to do. And here we are today.
