I agree, he brings a lot of baggage. Now that the draft has come and gone, it looks like he'll stay. The Steelers didn't take any quarterbacks so there isn't any long-term answer aside from Roethlisberger.

Now that I've heard back from Randy Matheson, the story is updated to include that Garcia was the head coach from 2003 to 2007.

Thank you for that added piece of information, it does change things. That was before I started covering the school, so I didn't know Garcia was the previous coach.
Sadly because of the nature of the story, Coach Popich didn't get a chance to give his side since he was instructed not to speak to the media during the investigation. At the same time, the Garcias were free to give information.
I assure you it was not my intention to sling any muck and when there is a resolution, it will receive just as much coverage.

Thank you for pointing out the mistake, I fixed it. I would also have liked to see more coverage, but a poorly-timed vacation prevented me from covering the game.

No one from the school told me when Jacob received it, otherwise I would have done a story. With the season he's having, he clearly deserves it.
