This is why appletards suck. Amazon had a nice little price thing going with their $9.99 model for new books. Publishers bitched and whined, but the public had spoken. Then along comes asshat Steve and his overpriced, oversized iphone/pad and his over priced books (which are somehow better??) and the appletards who will happily buy any iShit he poops out of his golden ass. So you lap it up like the morons you are and publishers think they can get away with it. Enjoy your expensive books and the expensive glare from the ipad while reading it. I'll be protesting silently by sitting in the bookstore blatantly reading for free.

I have serious doubts that this originated from the government. If so...it's most likely because politicians are currently the bitch of the Insurance Industry and THEY want to cut costs. It also doesn't surprise me that they chose women as their target. Men get viagra but not only do we not get abortions, we don't preventive care.

I think you mean: thank god you are one of those lucky Americans who has insurace that didn't decide to screw you over at the last minute. And getting to see the doctor right away has little to do with nationalized care and everything to do with 1) the emergency of the situation and 2) how in demand your doctor is (my guess is...not very).

Funnily enough, the same thing would have happened in that bastion of evil socialism, France!
