You beat me to it Nigel. I came here to say the claim "world's first" surely has to go to Chesterfield's crooked spire, it's actually a church rather than a cathedral, but that's neither here nor there!

Chesterfield's spire was built following the plague and a lack of skilled craftsmen was thought to be the cause, but now they believe the lead covering (which was not originally intended) caused the south side to heat up more than the north which caused the unseasoned timber to twist.

Fascinating it is still standing after all these years and the 45 degree twist and 3 meter lean hasn't caused it to collapse!

I think they need to work on the numerous vacuum proof expansion joints that will be required (ensuring they never fail or everyone dies). Also a pump that can withdraw ~2 million cubic meters of air from the Hyperloop and make sure it stays out of a pipe 370 miles long! Also the design of the pipe will need serious work to counteract the 10 tons of pressure per square metre the outside air will cause. Before they solve these issues the pods themselves are useless!

This is a good point I've not seen mentioned elsewhere. If the new windows were not installed in the same position as the originals, and there was a complete lack of intumescent fire stops, this could certainly have allowed the fire easier passage not only up the building but inside it as well.
But as you mention this is pure conjecture until the official reports are released which will probably be many months from now.

Well said. There were a couple of games (including the one Markovic got himself sent off for flicking someone in the face) where he looked a top player, but playing him in a defensive position is crazy. I'm sure most of the highest scorers in the league would look like crap if they were played in defence too...

Misha, I'm not even sure a fake card would be necessary, I have successfully collected train tickets with an entirely different bank card to the one used to purchase the ticket, when the original card was not available (the card was from a different bank, and even issued to a different person). Useful to me at the time, but far from secure for the user!

Why the obsession with the phrase "the latter"? Also if you are going to use it so frequently, you should really learn what it means! You use 'the latter' when talking about more than one person, to indicate the person you are talking about in that instance is the last person you mentioned. You used the phrase five times, but you only used it correctly once!
In number 5 you mention Lukaku then Didier Drogba, then say "the latter if signed", which would be Drogba, but you mean Lukaku.
On number 3 you say "also for Brendan Rodgers as the latter has great pace and ability" but you don't mean that, if anything it should say 'as the former has great pace' etc.
On number's 1 & 2 you use the phrase twice more, but you only mention one person in each so it is redundant.
