Tu poses l'hypothèse qu'un bon dev est un dev qui est perfectionniste. C'est une hypothèse tout à fait personnel et discutable.

Pour avoir recruter des dev pendant 15 ans, c'est pas du tout ma definition d'un bon dev.

Un bon dev est une personne équilibrée qui est capable de mettre le curseur au bon endroit et au bon moment. Savoir coder rapidement quite à faire un code pas très joli quand c'est pour faire un truc qui ne servira qu'une fois. Savoir faire archi propre quand c'est centrale et indispensable pour éviter une dette technique. Savoir refactorer le jour où c'est nécessaire. Savoir à quel moment il faut optimiser et dans quelle partie du code. Savoir descendre très profondément dans le code des autres et dans le système quand il faut débugger, comprendre ou optimiser une partie.

There's even some saas app to do that automatically.

Thank you for the info. I also wonder where the package install count is. I don't understand why MDG helps a close source project and doesn't give info to the opensource community.

Pulling a json containing 3000 packages every 12 hours is everything but not excess load.

Google and all other search engines crawl *all* packages page from atmosphere using phantomjs on server side, *this* generates lot more load.

The funny things is that if meteor used strictly semver since the beginning, i think we'll be at least to Meteor 10.x.x if you count how many time they break compatibility :-)

You have first to move to meteor 0.9.0 before doing the meteor update

update to 0.9.0
> meteor update

then update to cordova
> meteor update --release CORDOVA-PREVIEW@3

Meteor philosophy is to download the whole things. It does the same with mongo or nodejs.
The main reason is, with that system, everybody is sure to use the right version of the right tools/sdk.

UPDATE: with 0.7.2, they change the object to return. It's now easier, no more tokens.

You can remove all this:

//creating the token and adding to the user

//hashing is something added with Meteor 0.7.x,
//you don't need to do hashing in previous versions
var hashStampedToken = Accounts._hashStampedToken(stampedToken);

Meteor.users.update(userId,

and just do:

first i thought it was a regression in latest version of meteor so i traced the server meteor code and finally i read the new accounts-password package to see if something changed since this article and I found that.

No, meteor changed a small thing that make the example not working.

in the code above, instead of:

{$push: {'services.resume.loginTokens': stampedToken}}

you have to put

{$push: {'services.resume.loginTokens': Accounts._hashStampedToken(stampedToken)}}

the token is now hashed in the db as you see.

I just found the problem and it's now working as before!

@Arunoda Susiripala perhaps you can update your post.

I like your comment about sandbox lottery, that's true lot of people are frightened to fail so they just dream and play in a sandbox so they don't take risk but don't have any chance to win too.

You right about the first sentence and it's exactly where we have to start education. Explain them that yes it's luck but you must control it for example by being always aware and learn to see the opportunities behind everything.
