It is the old aikido Osensei practiced, you can clearly see the aikijutsu roots of aikido there.</p><p>From training yoshinkan aikido (shuyokan ryu) I can say that it is a pretty effective style of aikido in the personal defense aspects of it. Really powerful technique. I also train aikikai under the Aikido Association of America btw.</p><p>If you want to see fluid yoshinkan aikido just look up a video by Gozo Shioda. I bet you have seen some of them.
