Thought that the original Apple Watch, which was dubbed, "Series 0", lost support in 2018 when watchOS 5.x came out. Article above suggests (at time I wrote this comment) that watchOS 6 will work with it. Very much doubt it.

iOS now playing. Had a stack of notifications about messages that couldn’t be sent from 400+ days ago. Wasn’t annoying getting push after push for a few hours at all ;-)

Now that macOS beta 2 is out, I have installed that and retested. It’s doing an initial sync. iOS not playing ball as yet.

Same error message on both macOS and iOS. I wonder if it's region specific. Any UK beta testers been able to get this working?

Thank you for the tip. I've tried that off the back of your suggestion. Mac tells me, ""Unable to update iCloud settings at this time" still. Where are you based bigkool2? I'm wondering if this is only enabled for US iCloud accounts at the moment.

I have iOS 11 beta and macOS beta at the right level and haven't been able to run this on. On the Mac I get an error message, "Unable to update iCloud settings at this time." and on the iPhone it spends a long time "Syncing to iCloud" before reverting to telling me the last sync was Never. I suspected that the backend provision that will support this isn't ready yet and we shouldn't be using it.

Thank you Eric - first of all for the congrats around getting into Apple's News Feed and secondly for the compliment.

I find it so irritating how so many technology sites reproduce one another's stories almost word for word and so the merry go round keeps spinning. It's not limited to Apple news either. Have you been counting how many days the weather reporter being interrupted by a Windows 10 update notification has appeared as "new news"?

If you want to clean up the Yosemite build before you go to El Capitan then seek out an app called ONYX. Get the Yosemite version and run it on your device. Let it clean up the system, clean your NVRAM / PRAM and then do the update to 10.11. For sure, initial update will end up being a bit laggy whilst spotlight does it's reindexing thing. Same as our iPhones did post iOS 9 install for a day or two.

Can always install the MAS version over GM? That's what I did last year with Yosemite given the build number disparity.

I have GM on my Mac. Went to download from MAS and it told me not to bother, just run App Updates. Ran the updater and there are no new updates so assuming, for the time being, that GM and this release are one and the same.

I paid for the app. Connected it to Spotify. It's only grabbing circa 100 tracks from all of the playlists and tracks I've got set-up on Spotify.

EDIT >>> Sussed out that it doesn't look at your playlists at all. It looks at what you've got listed under "Your Music > Songs". I cleared out that area, went to a playlist, selected all of the tracks and chose to add them to my songs. It took a bit of time, but when I then went into Stamp, it picked up the changes.

You have my sympathies here. It's always a pain dealing with all of the non-joined up mobile services around the world.

I hopefully have a positive note for you though:

Provided that O2 took your money for your unlock and then processed it you should be in good position. You don't need a text message for the unlocking network provider for it to happen.

Apple centralised the sim locking of handset to their control. If O2 have processed the unlock then they will have told Apple they wanted the device unlocked and therefore if you put a non O2 sim in the device and then do a sync with iTunes (on a cable) it should process the unlock and give you a screen like the one in my article.

If it isn't there then I would try the following:

- reboot computer
- press and hold both buttons on iPhone until it reboots and apple logo on screen - remove any Ian hub from your computer
- use a different sub cable between iPhone and computer (direct connection)

I don't know why, but I felt that there must have been a lot more meetings than the 23 you allude to Bruce.

I had the pleasure of attending last week's "management" walk through of the event since Brian couldn't make it. Bruce was quite calm and collected. Preparation and planning are key to success and I'm more than sure that the weekend is going to be fabulous for you all given how much time and effort people have put into making it fantabulous!
