@arvee - Yes, before using social media channels, I believe companies should have a clear strategy on how to engage. An effort will fail if the goal is just to be present in a channel. To open a channel means to listen.

Hi Lawrence! This made me remember the time when our company had its first DSL connection. Everybody was so amazed with the speed and knew that they will be able to surf more. We tried studying the office behavior on this one and found out that sooner or later, people will be the one to make adjustments regarding productivity and have some leisure time online.

Yes, I agree that employees are looking at fast, reliable and open(?) internet connections in their office. Maybe it all boils down to professionalism and making sure that we discipline ourselves to balance work and social networking.

Actually this too is a dividing factor. If the first priority of a blogger is to earn money instead of creating good content first. I too have friends who are like these. And I think another question I should have included is WHEN. When should we consider monetizing our blogs.

Yes, I know Sonny Santos but not personally. He's one of those people who I want to meet during my vacation. Then I guess this another way of monetizing your blog? Since building a network and promoting personal brand, we are able to build credibility thus, making us shine in the eyes of head-hunters or HR executives.

Hahahaha! Yes, I agreee. It all depends on what you are writing and the theme of it. Though it's a known fact that image is everything, this too applies depending on what material you're trying to impart.

The reason why I wrote this article is because I got curious with our local blogosphere. Most of the people who taught me about everything social media are from here in the US and never saw anyone, or maybe not yet, not questions the ability of a blogger to entertain.

Hahahaha..Glad that we share the same line of strategy. Friendfeed is indeed powerful and there are still a lot of people out there who haven't seen the benefits it can give. The power of aggregating and sharing content is one thing that can enhance online relationships.

LinkedIn? I encourage you to join. LinkedIn is not just about flaunting your credentials or those thin papers that will tell people of your accomplishments. I believe that LinkedIn was created to promote camaraderie not only with people who are in the same field but is also giving us the opportunity to explore areas that we haven't really looked into.

Don't be shy. We all start from having nothing and that doesn't give us any right to belittle people's credentials.

By the way, I've subscribe to your feed too. That way, I can visit your living room regularly.
