hey annie! it was on their album 'third' from the 70s, which i'll send to you shortly. i think you'd really like it :) and yeah thats a beautiful song, i didn't realize beck recorded a cover of that album. Hey! i just sent you an obscenely long fb message, for which i apologize :( i've only read Norwegian Wood and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle -- the latter is considered his best work, but it's fairly long and a relatively heavy, convoluted read. i still liked it and would recommend it, but i think i prefer Norwegian Wood, if only because i read it more recently and have been in the mood for simpler things lately (thematically speaking). his writing is spare and elegant, and sometimes i find that what would have been humorous in the original Japanese doesn't translate too well to English, which can be a little awkward. this might just be me though. in sum i thought Norwegian Wood was a beautiful, poignant novel.

i've heard good things about The World According to Garp and will definitely have to check it out now :)

Actually I think I meant that the title (marry me) was named after arrested. not sure about the content haha. god i really hope the movie materializes eventually...

her music is pretty mellow, but the instrumentation can be really interesting. there's never a dull moment on the album.

yeah that sucks about de young - if only golden gate park were a little easier to get to. i, too, have been eating truly vast amounts, mostly chicken tikka masala and saag gosht and day-old chinese food. i do believe we should embark on a really-awesome-snack finding excursion that induces feelings of elation rather than grossness.. to trader joe's perhaps??
