Nothing is wrong with you. Every single person alive deals with "idols" "hangups" "sin" whatever you want to call it.
As far as accepting Jesus and all the temptaion of this world would vanish...that is the kind of teaching that upsets me. Can I apologize on the behalf of all Christians to you?! I'm sorry someone told you that being a Christian was going to be easy. I'm sorry that someone told you everything would be peachy once you became a Christian. Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ and know that our home is not on this earth. As Christians we belong to the kingdom of God, here on earth!
