I'm just not sure if he is authoritative enough. I think we need a good strong leader with a good sense for the game and fair play. It is a game after all. I think Andrew Strauss is a great example as was Mark Taylor.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Australia drop to fourth in rankings

My mistake, but you are still entitled to your opinion as are the Indian funs:-}

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Ashes review: England

Can't argue with that.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Australia drop to fourth in rankings

If, by that you mean wide eyed and open minded, you may be right. If anyone can help a short batsman with short pitched bowling, there's none better than the little master, Sachin.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Australia drop to fourth in rankings

You must think that the world is conspiring against India, let me say, it isn't. The whole world (those watching the actual event, not just those reading what they want into it) did see what happened. They saw the some Australians players react in unison to comments made by Indian players, one in particular, whom Indians seam to think makes the sun shine. The Aussies did react negatively to very negative and derogatory remarks made and justifiably so. I dare say that if you were racially abused, you might react similarly as I probably would also.
As far as verbal games are concerned, were you watching the English bowlers when Aussie batsmen were getting on top (on the odd rare occasion)? It is the same with all teams from club level to international level. If the batsman is getting on top then the bowler will usually try to distract him, usually with remarks and aggression. Rightly or wrongly, that's the way it is. It has always been that way. I can't say that I condone it, but that's just the how it seams to go.
So you want the Aussies to start playing cricket??? What have you been watching for the last 15 years.
I suggest you remove the bias and hatred from your point of view and watch the game for its own sake. Remember, it is a game. The players are playing a game. It has never prevented anyone from dying, nor has it ever kept a poor street child warm on a cold night. Perspective, perspective, perspective!

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Australia drop to fourth in rankings

Spot on.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Australia drop to fourth in rankings

Vindication at last. At least kvrajagopal is being objective. He is right, I think, to say England have lacked self belief but this will go a long way towards giving them some. They may have also gained a little of that mental toughness that Justin Langer was talking about.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Inspirational Freddie goes out on a high

Here here.

Re: Cricbuzz.com: Australia drop to fourth in rankings

Well put! I can only assume that maybe he wasn't really 100% fit in the second innings.
