The fuzz is delish.  In a smoothie it's not even noticeable, just cut the hard stem end off and toss it in.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I like the scoop method for the boy.  Here is how I do it.  Find the hard stem end and turn it over and cut about a half inch off the end.  I eat that part and give the rest to the boy. I generally put up a quart a week.  That keeps me in kraut every day.  I eat about 2-3 tbs a day, I love the stuff.  I have to admit, I haven't had luck with recipes.
