That's interesting what Jerry said. I was always under the impression that Jerry took care of the music and Robert was the wordsmith. But I guess here and there, maybe Jer helped Robert with some of the words.

In any case, there are so, so, so, so, so, so, so many instances when vocals for a live tune are impeccably sung, perfectly executed and farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from the worst from anyone. I've got a He's Gone playing now from 1980 and it's just gorgeous! Okay, maybe some of the harmonies (with Phil & Brent) are a little rough but Jerry alone and Jerry & Bob sound outstanding.

I thought about playing some Springsteen for the 4th. Something about that seems so right! Went with some good ol' Grateful Dead instead... can never go wrong with 7/4/81 Manor Downs. Damn fine show!

Truckin', up to Buffalo! I went Truckin' down to Austin, Texas for the 4th of July, listened to the pretty sweet 7/4/81 Manor Downs show. Every song so damn sweet!!

Yeah, I miss summer tour, also!
