I can relate with making jokes that people don’t get most of the time. Yet, I can just crack myself up, because it is satisfying, and then they will just shake their heads. Hahaha.

Both pair of glasses you have are nice. I want a pair from Warby Parker, but am no sure if my nose hold a frame like that up. You should check them out. Quite affordable too.

I think it starts with being passionate about something — with doing what you love. That helps endure the beginning. Positive reinforcement from your mom helps too, but deep inside, I think you need to believe in yourself as well. Or be crazy enough ^_^.

On the topic of creativity, there is this great TED Talk by Sir Ken Robinson about how people are educated out of creativity. It is also quite funny. Oh, British humour! Hahaha. After watching this, the people Ira Glass speak of are but a subset of those that stick around to actually go into arts.

Have you read Malcom Gladwell’s piece in the New Yorker about late bloomers? It might be of interest. I believe he also wrote a piece on learning, and there was a number floating around that to become an expert at something, it requires around 10, 000 hours of practice.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I prefer the cold and the dry. The last 3 times I visit Toronto, I bring the wrong outerwear. This Spring-like temperature, I do not mind, but the puddles and the slush are the suck. I’m dogsitting too, I am walking her 3 times a day, splashing dirt and salt all over the back of my pants. Sometimes, I have to run with her, because I’m not comfortable removing the leash. Just today, she kept chasing after every flying leaf, dragging me with her, (^_^).

Montreal? Yes!

For places to drink in Montreal, my favourite is Vice Versa. They usually have 30 beers on tap and the best terrace in the summer (imagine a canopy of white Christmas lights). Dieu du Ciel, Benelux (located in an old bank), and Réservoir are good micro-breweries. For cocktails, La Distillerie is a popular spot if you like your drinks in a mason jar. 2 cocktail places I’ve heard great things about: Barmacie Baldwin and L’Assommmoir.

I got to see The Joy Formidable earlier this year. Tempted to go again if it weren’t for the conflicts.

4. 3 Is weird. Sometimes, I close my eyes when trying to sleep, I will be visualizing an arachnid just like that. So I have to open my eyes and think of something else quickly! Or I think about whether I’ve had spiders enter my mouth when I sleep.

Hmm, I don’t get why each statements are on a scale from 1 to 7. There isn’t enough nuances really.

From answering the questions, it doesn’t seem like I’m afraid of spiders, but I still think I am.

When I was in elementary school, the house where I lived was near a river, and we had a spider issue in the summer. There were so many outside the front. I can remember this image clearly of opening the door near dusk, and seeing the silhouette of several spiders hanging off the porch. Eventually, my family had to call the exterminator to spray the front facade.

I also remember being at the public library when I was 14 maybe, and avoiding the aisle that had a spider book on display (nature section). And a guy I knew was there with me one time, and took the book to show me, so we ran around the library! Even when the book was not on display anymore, it was months later that I dared to pass by that area.

I don’t get nervous from a spider crawling on a wall, but a close-up of a harmless spider will scare me, especially if it’s sudden. And the big ones O_o scary.

If someone were to show me a card like in your example, I would probably kick it out of their hands and roll away like a ninja.
