Boulder has one descent trail, Walker Ranch that is (30mn away from town by car). Fort Collins and Golden have hundreds of miles of excellent MTB trails. The Boulder county and city could have done a lot more over the years to expand a larger networks of trail with which conflicts would be minimal. The harsh feelings you're talking about would be solved through density consideration. 10/20mn drive or bike ride west of Boulder to access a larger trail network would certainly satisfy MTBer in the backcountry and many good trails. It's only a density issue which seems to have been solved in Larimer and Jeffco counties. It's also interesting that IMBA (international mountain biking assoc.) is in Boulder doing amazing work all over the country/world but MTBer need to drive go to Nederlands, Golden or Lyons to get trails.

Re: The Hybrid Theory Manifesto: The Future of Marketing, Advertising, and Communications Part Two

Thx Brian. Resonance is the red pill of social media. We're getting over the cowboy stage and entering into more professionalization and integration with other medium and strategies across the organization. It starts with a brand embracing its constituents and as you say Brian create some sort of confluence. I was actually blogging about a Resonance Marketing framework yesterday here http://bit.ly/b44sz6 - If you haven't seen it already @ScepticGeek had a very interesting post today as well on Filtering for Relevance here: http://bit.ly/bpBaMj

Re: Comparing Approaches to Information Filtering for Relevance

Mahendra, I keep thinking about information 'resonance' these days and this post is really interesting. You've laid out a nice foundation to understand the 'relevance' parameters which rides along side resonance.

Re: IBM Debuts New Social Media Analytics Tool

Jolie, were you given any insights on the pricing structure?

Re: Corporate Social Media Backlash: The Virtual Firewall

Very interesting post Tac, I was actually blogging about the clash between personal and corporate digital footprint yesterday.... Twitter is getting an entire developer and users eco-system working for itself. Even Google and Bing are now trying to solve Twitter's problem by providing real-time search results. Yes it sucks to be a Twitter users compared with a FriendFeed user. On the Twitter side, I don't think that in the history of web application we've seen such a village supporting its center. It's beautiful.

Re: Social Media and the Job Search: How visible are you? | Blog | Colorado State University Continuing Education

Being an employee or and prospects, I also google everyone... imagine if when you hire someone you can't find any trace of them on the web... would you trust them as much as someone who is actually visible?

Then the question is what kind of visibility should people seek... it's not just professional but a wide spectrum of information which may become available to employers.

Re: Google Chrome Passes Safari to Nab Third in Browser Race

slick and smooth... just need to get those extensions to become super easy to use and it will be googled up for me. There's an implicit feeling that you have to quid pro quo and thank the people who FF you. This is the difference between a exchange and a transaction. I believe the 'awkward feeling' you're referring to quid pro quo has push you to a transaction stage (but you didn't know the price or terms of the transaction) If someone exchange, they shouldn't do to get something back.

Re: How Community Arts Organizations Are Using Social Media

comment box was stuck - ignore this

Re: How Community Arts Organizations Are Using Social Media

Colorado - We've been lucky to work with a pro-active Arts & Culture organization on using social media to increase their community outreach. One thing we find is that the community take some time, 3-6 months to start trusting those new mediums. By consistently providing superior content and progressively looking for feedback and engagement, it fit nicely with their outreach programs with tangible and measurable results.
Among other places, you can find them at:
http://beetstreet.org/blog
http://beetstreet.org
http://twitter.com/beetstreet
http://facebook.com/beetstreet
http://www.flickr.com/photo...

Re: Mashable’s Weekly Social Media Conference Guide

fyi - Colorado, June 12th Northern Colorado Entrepreneurs Network http://nocosocial.eventbrit...

Re: While Twitter Jumps The Shark The Cool Kids Jump To FriendFeed

I would have never sticked to Twitter if those desktop application hadn't appeared, they helped cut the noise and keep on top of the conversations. I was actually asking this morning if there was any Desktop App for FF - http://alertthingy.com, i'll try that. The vertical groups in TweetDeck and Seesmic have made it manageable - I still find FF need to improve it's ability to organize streams and people with minimal friction: one button. I'll try more for sure...

Re: Who Will Monetize Social Media?

A mutually beneficial platform between the agent & the system will certainly monetize the current growth in social media - The social media sphere is mushrooming because we're looking for new way to find pertinent and reliable information which we've lost in the old media model. Search is becoming irrelevant because it can't serve this relevant information anymore. Relying on the social graph is partly the answer to extract the right juice out of the cloud - I still can't rely on 'my friend' to feed my intellect and get me a competitive advantage. Twitter is doing a good job at letting the agents benefit for the system and vice-versa... the problem is the noise. A different company and hopefully not the current giant (google/msft) will.
