Just got the trailer out of storage and checked in on the sleds. The Vec looks even better than I remember (I had some custom numbering done over the summer) and I overstated my mileage last season (only 829kms) but ready for many more this year! It's a little small in the avatar but that's me on my Vec GT LTX and my son on his Dragon 120. Can't wait!

I'm adding some studs this year for safety and a hitch for pulling the sleigh into our cottage as we are trail access only in the winter time.

Have a great season everyone!

Re: This, That and the Other Thing ...

Weird weather today in Orillia... I hope you were able to make some good contacts and get some others to come hang out here once in a while.

Good luck and good to see you're still in the biz!

Re: Yamaha Vector

Great article and yes, it is good to see the Vector now joins it's brethren with fuel injection but let's not talk it up to the point that anything before 2010 was inferior! In fact the Vector has always been "quietly hangin out in the shade" as a rock solid, reliable, mile piler. I bought a leftover 2009 Vector GT LTX late last season and got nearly 1000kms on it before having to put it away in the spring. As much as the FI adds a throttle response and 5 to 6 HP, and the suspension updates add even longer term reliability, these older versions are well worth a look if your looking for used or for leftovers. My beef with the 2010 is the price (in Canada). I'm not sure the minor performance improvements warrant the increase in price that the sled recieved in the spring. I was able to pick up my leftover last year for slightly over $10K and the 2010 list price for the same sled (Vec GT LTX) is $14999.00! Man, for $5K I could add a turbo and leave the FI version in the snow dust! I am a Yamaha faithful (my last four sleds) and also frugal (read: cheap), perhaps the future holds one of these new FI sleds for me but only as a leftover.
