I agree with you on the overpricing. Apple has done an excellent job at convincing the public that their products are cool and innovative. Take a look at most shows that are aimed toward teenagers and college-aged people and you'll see Apple product placement all over the place.

It's an expert move by Apple, hence why they can charge ridiculous amounts of cash for their stuff. Hackintosh if you really want to OS.
