Do you simply mean they want to keep it up into EOM or is there more to read into it than that?

My LT tell is still positive on NDX above 1465 but my IT flipped negative on Monday. So I have tightened stops and will look to get long with any cash that is raised if IT turns and we are still above 1465 NDX.

Thanks for all you do in providing this forum and sharing your insight.

Re: An amateur's IT and ST view (it's not what you think)

Poop,

My heart aches for you because like many others I have felt the pain evident in your remarks. I have done what you described twice. Your couragous confession is a step toward becoming a great investor. While the anguish you are feeling and the lessons you have learned are very fresh write them down and then make then make re-reading them a part of your trading plan so that you never allow this to happen again. Every challenge that doesn't kill us makes us stronger so believe in yourself and vow to be an even better man for what you have learned.

I wish you all the best.

Re: MInor short squeeze going on...

"for sure"...What gives you such conviction? "If you want to be a one of the "few" successful traders, you have to trade based on "what you see", not "what you believe". " These are the types of nuggets of wisdom that will truly help people to become better traders and why in my book your name should be U R DeMan. Smart and long term sucessful traders are those who learn early that there is no 'Holy Grail' and there are no gurus; there are only probabilities and proper position management around your own buy/sell pivot as you define it.

My tell is NDX and my LT buy/sell line is at 1490. I tightened up stops on the move into major resitance and am mostly cash now. I will get stopped back into my longs trailing the weeekly highs or begin rebuilding long positon in 1490 area.

http://tiny.cc/97j9C

The fact that you choose not to post RT trades and become every man's guru tells me much about your character and your intentions with this blog. I find them very helpful in maintaining my own discipline.

The title of your post reminds me of my favorite analogy of the market.

IMO How you trade it at the bull/bear line is the definitive separator of success. This is where the pros use gaps and traps to trick you and throw you off the real trend. You have to be like a cowboy riding a bucking horse. There are different methods and strategies that can work and you have to find your own style. You have to make educated guesses when to be aggressive but limit your risk of serious injury by letting go and getting bucked off if you find yourself out of rhythm with the horse. But then you must be ready to get right back on again after you have been bucked off. When you finally get into rhythm with the horse the ride can last a long time, it can be a beautiful thing to behold and the judges will give you a very high $core.

I have come to terms with my own position management skill set around the bull/bear line (same as supply/demand line) however I am constantly working to refine my process of identifying where that line is. Currently I have it about 905.

You seem to be very good at defining that supply/demand line. Where do you see it now and can you teach how you see it?

Thank you again for your generosity.

Re: Video Commentary

VJ and Anna,

Thank you both for all your contributions.
