Sadly, this is the last large mature forest in the Lake Tapps area. Although a property owner certainly has a right to develop one's property in any legal manner they see fit, it is disappointing to watch another beautiful forest be taken down and removed. The Corliss family has managed this forest with care and respect over the years and it is pristine and beautiful as a result.

Public conversation and consideration should be given to perserving this property as a natural area and regional park before loggers begin removing this forest. A fact, mentioned in the April 8th article written by Dannie Oliveaux, that no comments were received during the 30 day review process for this application, is of concern to those who are now reading about the logging permits having been approved by the Department of Natural Resources.

This letter is perhaps my only opportunity to comment on the "quiet" 30 day review process and express my disappointment and dismay.

Frederick Streeck
Lake Tapps
