And I also came to the conclusion that I needed to stop designing in order to better serve Go Media as President. It took me 15 years to come to that conclusion, but now that I've made the shift I see how important it was. So, you're on the right track!

We're here to help and I hope you find lots of value in the material we've put together!

Re: Drawn to Business | How to Build a Thriving Design Firm

Hey Sean!
We just updated the product with all the supplemental materials including a new much lower price for "...just the book..." I tell my story of how I failed at building a proper sales team on multiple occasions and then how I finally made it work. Go Media's current sales team is 95% commission with a small stipend to cover non-sales related work that they do.

While I am an open book about most things Go Media does, I can't tell you the exact terms of the deal I have with my sales team. We have a bit of a unique arrangement which I can tell you more about offline.

We are close to relaunching this book with a new pricing model and tons of supplemental materials, so I highly recommend you keep an eye on this site for about a week, then buy after you see the change. Then, once you've read the book, feel free to shoot me a personal e-mail and I'll answer any questions I can.

Re: Drawn to Business | How to Build a Thriving Design Firm

I agree - we will be making those too!

Re: Drawn to Business | How to Build a Thriving Design Firm

Hey Erich!

Thanks for the long-winded reply. Yes there is a physical book coming, and supplemental materials, and tiered pricing, and bundles! It's all coming! :)

Read some of my responses above. We will be changing the options/pricing on this product so you can pick the one that works for you. We just wanted to get this book out as quickly as we could - so it started in it's most basic format.

More to come!

Re: Drawn to Business | How to Build a Thriving Design Firm

:) Not so fast Sean! There WILL be some changes to come in terms of the pricing and options. We're hearing our customers LOUD AND CLEAR. So far this book has only been marketed to a very small group of people - a test market. And like any good business, we are listening carefully and adjusting the product so it works for our customers.

OF COURSE, I know that the information in my book (digital format not withstanding) is worth tens of thousands of dollars. If you could learn how to increase your rates, or negotiate better - wouldn't that return your $200 on your first deal? Wouldn't that give you lifelong return of many thousands of dollars? This is what I've learned over 15 years! All that information is in this "book."

Having said that - we will be adjusting the product. We understand that most people hear "book" and think "$20." If it was a college textbook, a course or a weekend seminar, pricing of $200 - $2,000 would be considered normal. Being smart business guys we understood this and discussed it at length. The plan has always been to launch the supplemental materials and turn it into more of a business course. But it's been two years in the making and I got antsy. Everyone kept asking me when the book was coming out - so I may have pushed it out a little prematurely.

So, keep an eye out. Changes/additions are coming!

Re: Drawn to Business | How to Build a Thriving Design Firm

Hey Eric,

I completely understand. Based on feedback we've already gotten, we will be reworking the product into tiered pricing with a variety of different options - including a physical book!

We will send you an update shortly. I believe there will be a lower tier than the current price point. Of course, I recommend you buy the deluxe package - the information and materials will return many hundreds of times the amount you'll invest.

Re: Drawn to Business | How to Build a Thriving Design Firm

Yes. We will have a physical book, as well as additional supplemental materials and tiered packages. In other words - ...BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!! So, keep an eye on this website as we work through the changes and additions to this product. We're adding and revising bases on feedback we've gotten so far.

Re: Drawn to Business | How to Build a Thriving Design Firm

Thanks Sakaiser!
