First off yes I smoke, and I don't truly care if they make all restaurants smoke free, I do wish the bars had the choice to become non smokings though to accomadate everyone, than you would have a choice to not go to that bar.

But the bigger picture here isn't whether they ban smoking, it is that Michigan has way more problems than this. So, with that being said, since most of you all want this to happen how is this going to help the ecomony or bring in more jobs?????

Like I said I don't care about the smoking ban, but I think these committees would have bigger things to worry about right now. Let's just keep wasting more money for stupid things.

On and one more point (which I know will get a response) after they ban smoking, they should go after alcohol.

Again this is all great and wonderful but where are people suppose to get the money to buy this new vehicles since no one is lending money unless you have crystal clear credit, which isn't to many people anymore with all the unemployment.

And quite honestly I wouldn't buy a broom on credit right now, not knowing how long my job is going to last.

Isn't giving credit the reason we are in this mess in the first place. Giving incentives for people that can't afford things. If everyone goes out and buys a nice new vehicle with a voucher and than can't pay back the loan, aren't we just making the problem worse. Congress gotta love em!!!

Oh what a great idea, where are you suppose to get the loan to buy said vehicle when no one is lending money and if they are they must be crystal which most aren't because of unemployment. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't this what got us into this mess in the first place giving incentives to buy things people can't afford and what happens when they can't pay back the loans? Yup great idea, gotta love our congress.

I wouldn't get a loan for a broom right now with this economy, and the fact that my job could be gone tomorrow.

I am and will drive an SUV forever. I am not going to truck 22 miles in the winter one way on Michigan crappy unsalted roads in a compact car. Not happening. I love my SUV with is a Grand Cherokee, and which I will own till it stops running.

As good as an idea as that is that is not going to happen. I have always worked within 10 miles of my work. But my company moved to Troy and I will never move over here because of the traffic and conjestion. It is a good idea but isn't pratical for most.

So BJ your suggestion is to let it coutinuing sitting idle. It is great that any talks are happening and you are correct this started in Jan and has been held up because neither party wants to do the clean up. Hopefully since it is in the news again they are making progress. I think it would be a great boost to the area. We really have nothing in Wixom to do, and Paradise Park gets old. I have been a resident of Wixom for over 15 yrs and I hope it does happen.

I do feel the zero tolelence rule isn't fair. My son (by the way who is white) was suspended for 14 day for fighting (defending himself), with I thought was a little excessive, but the ACLU is just stupid when it comes to these studies. What about the black children that were doing things right why was nothing mentioned about that in the study. And the girl with the eyebrow thingy so if she was suspended she was automactally going to turn to crime. Seriously. Children get suspended all the time doesn't mean they will become criminals. Also I think guns aren't the only weapons. What about knives?

And people wonder why people are racist? ACLU is a joke and makes people hate ethinic groups because of these stupid reports.

Thanks BJ our names could go together (lol). I agree but if they did make it a sports park, then we would be able to host things that our area doesn't have the facilities to host. Like States for Baseball, Have little league championship. My kids played in Lakes Ath. for 15 yrs and I was always tired of traveling to other cities to go to tourney's. It would be nice if it could work to invest in our young people and have something to do in Wixom.

That has been happening in Walled Lake School and Huron Valley School District forever. It is in the packet at the beginning of the school year. It still hasn't stop the problems. It a piece of paper they sign then the parents sign after them. I am sure most districts have something in place for this. It is not going to stop the problem.
