Hi Brenda, while I appreciate these opinions. She could choose not to continue to grant interviews in the media. She could have also chosen not to knowingly break the law in the first place.

Hi April, a lot of damaging actions have been taken by Kropp since the award. Not sure she's doing herself any favours by dragging our community through the mud in the media...kind of erodes any goodwill.

Why doesn't Michelle Kropp pay the fine "as deserved", for her irresponsible decisions to knowingly break the law. Then, as has been suggested by the County, ask to have the bylaw changed/amended? Why drag our community down through demanding to yet again skirt process, "and the law" with some special Michelle Kropp only exemption? Why force yourself to go to court, when the solution has been there the whole time? What is your real motivation with contacting every media outlet know to mankind? Doesn't seem to be Eli. Serious about Eli Michelle? Then start being responsible for the first time with this issue and go through the process with the County.

Michelle, your decisions have been completely irresponsible. Deliberately and knowingly breaking the law, then expecting special treatment after you get caught, and when you don't get it, you blame the County? Your handling of this in the media has caused our community a lot of grief, and your base of support seems to be predominantly everywhere else but where people have to live with your antics. Once you're fined, and if, "you" allow Eli to be seized because of your continued irresponsible actions, your family will only have you to blame for this ridiculous issue in the first place.

Dave, do yourself a favour and distance yourself from "former" mayor Osinchuk and Bidzinski and partisan politics. Get on the Strathcona County team working with the province in a positive manner. As you've seen with Edmonton's LRT funding, what is today's missed budget item can be tomorrow's amended budget item. IF you can put your Team Osinchuk/Bidzinski partisan pitch fork away you might gain more respect. There's a reason why it's not good to have several Councillors operating on their own agenda out in public. This isn't a freedom of speech issue, it's a who gets it and who doesn't issue. Also you are not the primary representative for Strathcona County on these issues with the Province. Osinchuk hired a consultant to this because they wouldn't let her in the door. You're on the same path. Mayor Carr on the other hand is doing well. Anyone who thinks the stakeholders are content and are stopping with the opening of phase 1 is not well informed. This hospital will continue to evolve in it's capabilities. You could be supportive of the court house process that's happening too except you're burning bridges while standing on them. Don't apologize for working hard, apologize for not working smart and using 2 dimensional approaches.

Are you suggesting Anderson is with the Wild Rose (Team Angry)? I agree I would like to see more deliberate and immediate commitment by the PC's. However, just because Mayor Carr is pointing out some positives for Strathcona County in the budget so we can understand it, doesn't suggest to me that she is going to quit. I have no doubt Mayor Carr will continue efforts to ensure Phase 2 of our hospital happens, and the court house is built will remain a priority with Council.

Well written post Chris. Don's largest challenge going forward will be to see if he will unite our region or divide it further. LRT is a funding issue primarily, nothing compared to the much larger challenge of uniting a community separated by money and identity. As for Redford, your experience has been mine as well. The word "elitist" is firmly implanted in the minds of every Albertan I've spoken to about it. She has definitely lost the public trust. Unfortunately, now any attempt to get it back seems trite and disingenuous. Tough for her caucus to rally around her, the rest of the team is being painted as "ineffective" too. Lost opportunity is right.

Thanks but no thanks Councillors. I don't believe education through legislation will work. A bylaw will not deter or change behaviour in any substantive way, especially with kids. We need 21st century solutions, we can be smarter than this. Innovative peer to peer engagement on the definition of bullying, with accompanied prevention activities where they are needed most. Start a movement owned by residents of all ages. Strathcona County is a "bully free zone".

Joan, Council requested that Administration look to see if both feasibility studies could be done simultaneously. The response from Admin at the last Council meeting was "we don't have the resources to do both simultaneously without other projects suffering". So they aren't, no extra funds spent. Colchester was in motion to be studied after Bremner's study is completed in June 2014 anyway. Council was looking to fast track the study by 6 months. Colchester will remain on track and I'm positive transportation and infrastructure will be a part of the study as it will be performed by "professionals".
