I've been discouraged for quite a while now, too, a fact to which my dwindling number of columns attests. Being a broken record gets old, especially when nothing changes but continues on the downward slide.

You are a rare talent. Your ability in writing, expression and Christian and conservative apologetics are second to none. I admire you greatly, and I know your work will be missed.

"The beast" doesn't put to death anything in us, as his only purpose is to steal, kill and destroy the things of God. He stands condemned already, although he still has authority in this world before Jesus' return.

Christ's spirit living in us combined with our obedience to Him (taking up our cross) is what moves us closer to His likeness. When we receive the Holy Spirit, that's when the old man is put to death and "behold, all things have become new." No beast has anything to do with that. It is Christ alone.

Ken, I don't view this growing police state as our "cross to bear." The growing police state is the natural result of the sin and corruption in our nation's leadership and culture. When we are mistreated because we wear the name of Jesus, that's something different. This TSA thing was not that.
