Given past surges in gas prices, anyone who purchased a vehicle that currently requires $100 to fill up was asking for it by virtue of their not paying attention. Upset because your bet on gas staying cheap forever was a bad one? Cry me a river. You made a bet as bad as taking out $100k in debt for a social work degree.

People willing to give up on Ukraine are being shortsighted and in doing so, they're signaling to not just the Russians, but also the Chinese that as long as you have nukes, you can do whatever you want with your neighbors, including genocide. In Russian-controlled areas, the occupiers are erasing all concepts of Ukrainian identity. The isolationists are deluded into thinking that this time, we can keep ourselves safe by just hiding our heads in the sand, if we were only to do it better than we did in the 1930s.

The GOP better not go full MAGA after the election unless they want to repeat the mistakes of the progressives the past 2 years. Besides, going full MAGA won't result in any favorable bills getting signed into law anyway, because Congress still has to deal with Biden or somehow manage veto overrides (don't hold your breath).

Giving up on Ukraine would be shortsighted and signal others like China that they can do what they want to their neighbors because the US is gutless.

If you think the semiconductor shortage is bad now, it would be ever more calamitous if China invited Taiwan as that's where most of the fabs are that we depend upon. Spinning up capacity in the states takes years and billions of dollars and requires a workforce far more educated than you would need for most manufacturing.
