I'm not sure about it. My product is Webpage Profi from German T-Online.
Today I've found Super Installer for Linkr 2.3.3, but after install it's the same behavior as before.

Path had been set to existing folder "root/Joomla/logs". I changed it to "logs", but I don't think of any influence by this change.

Still the same behavior

I didn't find your path, but I tried this on the Backend instead:
Components > Linkr > Preferences
Then I got access to four config parameters. The 3rd one was Folders, set to "images"

Is there another important setting to look for? I don't have problems with my localhost on PHP5.

I'm having problems with no more files showing up. My provider is still on PHP4, Joomla 1.5.14, Linkr 2.3.4
I have access to articles, but no files are present. Directory only shows a "/"
