I am entirely jealous of the goth-loli of the week. I wish to be russian with red hair. It's so romantic.

anyway, I saw the gloomy bear collection a couple of weeks ago and I think it's almost kawaii but it sort of falls off the mark. to be truly cute it would have to be a little less wrinkled. It looks a tad half-assed- not up to the snuff of other baby collections.

However the emo fashion, I have got to say, is much nicer than western emo fasion, though it's not really "emo" in technicality, is it? It's like dark- exhibitionist- in a good way. I'd say Kawaii to this one none-the-less

I think if you're going to style that hair (which is a wicked change btw!<3) I think you should put a teensy but of texturizing paste ( like a pea sized amount at most) then randomly back-comb it, but very lightly just so it looks messy. Then add a bit of hair spray (drugstore quality so it gets a little crunchy) and scrunch it. I do this all the time to my hair and it makes it look really chic for some reason as long as you don't backcomb the roots too much (or at all!)

I actually think a lot of those pieces are quite wearable. You'd just have to wear them with other things. The little dress the model is wearing under the jedi-esque hoody is actually pretty adorable. I'd even wear it with those tights too. :). the pants with the spikes on the sides of them are pretty cool, if worn in a more minimalist way.

oh and the robot model is creepy-cool.

That is absolutely adorable. It's half modern, half old-school My Little Pony. The muted colours are completely amazing- I bet they actually stand out more just because their whole look is so pale. The girl with the pale pink hair kind of looks like she's dressing in 80's childrens' winter clothes. I think my brother actually had something in that confetti print flannelette that girl has as a skirt.

I think the whole mix and match-ing of the two styles is not only very lolita in it's self but incredibly Japan. I think sometimes the hard core followers of Lolita (You, carmina, being exempt) forget what this whole style started as ; Girls of Japan trying to break free of the buisness, routine, uniform obsessed nation. When we see these two crazy, different styles coming together, not only should we discuss but we should embrace. Different is never bad and just because someone doesn't follow the rules doesn't mean that they should be cast out of the circle of love! <3
I remember a lolita of the week who combined multiple styles and lolita and she said she got ridiculed for it :(. I certanly don't think we should go spending 3000$ on clothes and shoes a month, but I think that hime makeup would make a nifty contrast to all the fine detail and pink cotton that goes into a Baby dress.

I think what distinguishes Hime and Lolita is what distinguishes faux-show-homey rococo inspired furniture and the real deal you would find at the palace of Versaille.
I think that perhaps it could become better known in our culture but because it does look so similar to Gothic and lolita (to the untrained eye at least) it probably won't become known as something unique from it.

Anyway- I love tokyo street style! and tokyo new tribe. I discovered street style like 2 years ago and I've had it as a bookmark ever since!<3 That picture of the Hime-garyu from new tribe is pretty much my favourite. I adore the way her eyes are rimmed with black and the way it's juxtaposed against her skin and her dress & accesories. Her nails are also lovely.

btw. I love your blog carmina! I don't even know how long I've been reading it- I think there was only 13 or so pages when I found it! It's way more interesting than just looking at the same ol' pages on avant gauche all the time. Thanks for the gorgeous pics, cute cat and godly writing!
