Here's the link to watch online:

http://gamecinemahd.com/gam...

Hope that thumb gets better soon Shoe, it has to be tough having your everyday life, nevermind your gaming time affected because of it (I speak from experience). Can't wait to see what is to come with Bitmob

Re: Project P is now...Bitmob.com

Glad to see the curtain finally drawn back. The fact that this came from IGN makes it all the more better. It shows that even though these sites may be "rivals", people do still care what happens to others.

That and they're not blind to how screwed up this whole thing is.

Re: More goodbye EGMing...

I guess with how quick some readers are to jump and call people biased, you never can be too careful.

Re: More goodbye EGMing...

Great interview on DGR Shoe. Also, games like Persona 4 and even Tales of Vesperia were very overlooked. Wait...all 3 of those are RPGs, oh that's right, RPGs are NEVER given their due by mainstream media unless their name begins with "Final" and ends with "Fantasy"

Re: 2008 Ex-EGM Awards: The Games of the Year

I'm really glad to see such a wide variety of games being mentioned here. It shows that people still have individual tastes. For me personally, on a strictly "Game of the Year" point, I may have to give it to Tales of Vesperia. However, if we break it down to what game I had the most FUN with, No More Heroes takes the cake.

Re: Sore Thumbs

Sure it is Kraig, you just need a second controller and set it to the shortest game possible. I think it's a good point that you set up there Shoe. Splitting everything up evenly makes sense, because who knows how many games were traded in that another employee might have wanted. Also the idea of not speaking with other reviewers before scoring a game sounds right. It's amazing how much other people can influence our opinions without us ever realizing it.

Re: Life after gaming journalism: The top 6 career paths

I can see it now, Coming 2009, Godzilla vs. Ricciardi

Re: The trouble with game of the year awards

Great article Blake. I think this brings up just one more point about how disjointed the video game community can be. As you stated, with so many different companies throwing around "Game of the Year" honors, it can get a big confusing for the consumer. Personally, I have no issue with different websites handing out year end awards and in fact I think it is their right as reviewers. However I do feel that they need to take caution in just how they advertise these awards, with extra care given to making sure that a "game of the year" is put forth as " 'Our' Game of the Year".

I do hope that someday however, they may be some type of industry-wide standard so that an "official" awards lineup can be run without the need for payoffs or red tape. A little idealistic, I know, but still.

Re: Life after gaming journalism: The top 6 career paths

beanbag chairs are always the best for those situations because it really doesn't matter how you flop down on them, they are still more comfortable than the bathroom floor

Re: Life after gaming journalism: The top 6 career paths

In extension to MOT's question, I'm also curious as to what kind of format companies ask for these mock reviews in. I love reading things like this because its outside the norm from what you get in a gaming-based blog and really allows all of us to leech some information off of you. I've noticed what seems to be more and more people these days going into these community manager roles as well. The most interesting job I fond here was the mock reviewier, as I wasn't aware these types of pay positions existed. Very informative!

Re: Sore Thumbs

Shoe that's terrible man.
