Hahahaha. They're protesting outside the chapel of Wheaton College. Yes, my alma mater. Reminds me of such great times! Unfortunately, I had several friends who were students there as well and who went to Exodus in hopes of ending their "homosexual tendencies." I had another friend who decided to come out while still at the school, and as a result, received so much hate mail from his fellow students that he had to leave.

So Christ-like. But I stuck around. Caused some problems. LOL.

I'm so tired of the hypocritical standards that many people are holding Perez to. Sure, I think he's made major mistakes, but so have all of us. You can't tell me that many of the people judging Perez haven't said those same words he spewed out that night themselves. The self-righteous tone they take on is unbelievable.

Good job calling them out.

Welcome to the fickleness that is LGBT activism. (Though you know what I mean - you call it out all the time.) Drives me f****** crazy. I've been a supporter of the Olson-Boies case since the beginning and am working on a major post for it soon. (July 2nd is the first hearing) Believe me, I heard the criticisms that are now turning to support.

Don't get me started on QUEERTY.

Your point about nudity = porn is a whole other topic. LOL. (art, nudity, porn - a debate that will never go away.) But when I say porn, I'm thinking full-frontal hard ons and depictions of sex.

But when it comes to just nudity, that's another issue that may never be resolved. Sites are going to be flagged and then blocked simply because of nudity. And that happens both in the straight and gay blogosphere.

I think Pam's House Blend was flagged by homophobic users. The weakness in OpenDNS system is that it took just a few to block the site for all.

As for porn being mixed with blogs, it's rather annoying. I don't see the point in mixing the two unless your blog is about porn. I know that's not eloquent. I'm tired. But they only reason I see for having porn on a blog is to attract hits.

I actually did more than just put the notice at the top of my blog, I posted on it immediately when I knew I could stream it. Post.

Though I agree that the Defense of Marriage Act needs to be repealed, I don't agree with civil unions. Our national Supreme Court deemed separate but equal unconstitutional.

Civil unions is just that, even if it did have all the protections and benefits of marriage. If all it is is a word, then why the commotion? Because it's more than a word. It has MEANING. And in this country, it's wrong to discriminate against a citizen certain rights that others enjoy.

Pretty simple in my opinion.

OK, so I remember distinctly a radio talk host calling an African American women's basketball team, "N***py-headed hos." He was, justifiably, raked over the coals, humbled and kicked out of his job.

Now here's Andrew saying these NAUSEATING, foul things against the LGBT population, and where's the national reaction? Where's the indignation? Sure, you can find it within our own population, but does anyone else care?

On top of her argument against the "tradition", marriage has not been the same for 5,000 years. It's evolved. It began as the exchange of property, INCLUDING WOMEN. No romance. No love. An agreement between two families. Binding. An alliance. Why do people think countries sent Princesses to other nations to marry? Not for love. As a political ploy.

TODAY marriage is about love and commitment and building a family. That's relatively new. NOT traditional. And traditions change.

And don't get me started on the biblical argument. Having been raised a Christian missionary, I can argue any Christian into the ground when it comes to bible verses.

But in the end, it's about equality. Not about tradition. Not about the bible. But like Randi said, it's about freedom. Equal freedom.

PERIOD.

I love this story. It's so funny how the anti-gay mongers thought this was a new affront to "traditional" marriage, a new conspiracy ganging up on them, when it had been technically redefined years ago.

But this just lends to the fact that marriage has evolved over the millennia. Compared to the rest of history, their idea of marriage has existed for only a blink of an eye, and they're pissed that it's moving beyond them.
