Absolutely agree - .1 BTC is way too high an amount to keep mining to. Perhaps I should cut my loss now and quit NiceHash for good.

I might stay if I can transfer my unpaid balance to a NiceHash wallet OR if they gave us an advance heads-up. But this totally screws my plans up and ties my coin up for another month!

Al, you could not be more wrong. Air Force basic training is 8.5 weeks (in other words, one day short of a full nine). Also, there are not - nor have there EVER been - stress cards in basic training. Furthermore, it does not consist simply of "moping" (I assume you meant "mopping") and reading.

Well first of all, reading the whole quote, I'm not sure that he ISN'T lamenting the fact that they didn't overstep their bounds. Perhaps it's just a poor choice of words? I dunno. What seems pretty clear however, is that he actually was calling for the stealing of white wealth and its redistribution to blacks, which yeah, does kinda make him sound like a black power communist.

But whether or not he intended it to come across as that, I'm really surprised that McCain hasn't made more of a deal of Obama's shocking wealth redistribution goals. Instead they talk about the plumber he was talking to when he said it. Fucktards! Anyway, if you want wealth redistribution, go to Venezuela, Zimbabwe, or the old Soviet Bloc. Oh wait, you can't go to the latter, BECAUSE IT COLLAPSED.

John Kerry took his own military record and turned it into a negative. Are you forgetting about how he conveniently slipped it in every now and then? He might as well have just said, "I'm John Kerry, and I'm a war heroooo!" /end John Kerry voice (I love imitating his voice in real life, lol). Of course, SOME of that is to be expected from a presidential candidate. They do love to toot their own horns, now and then. But what I can't forgive him for is how he turned against the troops the second he got back from Vietnam. He viciously slandered them upon his return, tried to play diplomat to the North Vietnamese, and of course famously threw his medals over the White House lawn (neglecting to mention that you can pick them up for a couple bucks at your local Base/Navy Exchange).

ANYWAY, as for the subject at hand, I really can't understand why anyone would trust a Democrat on taxes more than a Republican. I don't have much faith left in the Republican party, of course, but they're MUCH better on taxes when it comes to Democrats. Even if Obama keeps his promise and only raises taxes on the >$250k crowd to give to those who already don't pay taxes, how is that a good thing? Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Obama want to actually give more in tax rebates/credits/whatever to the 40% (I believe that's the number, it may be off) who already DON'T pay taxes? Why do they deserve a tax break? Why do the rich who already pay heavy taxes deserve to be taxed more? What happens when the 40% who don't pay taxes becomes 60% who don't pay taxes? After all, I'm sure the entitlements will keep expanding to include more people, not less - it's never very politically viable to take away someone's benefits, is it? Or will the Democrats continue to lower their definition of what they consider "rich"? Maybe two-income households who make $75k will now be considered rich?

Those who do not pay income taxes shouldn't be allowed to vote - it's a conflict of interest. This coming from someone who doesn't pay income taxes himself (as half of my pay is non-taxable, and at any rate what's the point of getting taxed if the government is the one paying me?).

Ok, I realize that's a lot of rambling - I apologize for the disorganization in this post as I don't have the time to research, proofread, etc. Actually I've been this lazy for a while in my posts, lol.

A) Considering Al Qaeda targets fellow Iraqis more often than they target us, then yes, I do believe our presence is beneficial. And yes, there have been massive strides.

B) Bush responsible for Iraq? Yes, along with all of the Republicans AND Democrats who voted FOR the war six years ago. But Bush responsible for the financial crisis? Partially, I'm sure; but he's not the originator of the failed mortgage policy that largely led us here.

C) They're the same thing. You can't support the troops and yet hope they fail.

D) This is primarily an Iraq-as-it-relates-to-al-Qaeda discussion. Note the change.

A) Yes we are, thanks in part to the surge. Hopefully in a few years we can drop to 50% or so of the total strength, but I wouldn't hope for a complete withdrawal by 2010. In any case, A-Stan is where it's at; it's been in a much worse state than Iraq since about mid-2006 and to Obama's credit at least he wants to increase our presence there. Let's hope he follows through with that if elected.

B) I thought you were against the bailout? In any case, we won't be able to gauge whether or not Iraq was "worth it" until we see what the lasting effects of the invasion and occupation were, and that could possibly take a decade or more. We may get fat returns, or we may have wasted ten years. Most likely, of course, it'll be a mixed bag, but we've still got to hold off final judgment.

Also, how much will Obama's expansion of government cost us? Just wondering.

C) I'm sure you remember Murtha commenting on the Haditha incident, "There was no firefight, there was no IED (improvised explosive device) that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood." He said this before anything concrete was known. Today the charges have been dropped against the Marines in question and some have sued Murtha for slander.

Also recall Durbin's comparison of us to the Nazis, Soviets and Pol Pot. Everyone remembers Kerry essentially saying that stupid, uneducated people wind up in Iraq. What about Obama saying that we're air raiding villages and killing civilians?

What effect do you think these comments have on those of us serving? Do you think it increases troop morale? What about support from the American people? From my point of view, no enemy could possibly hope to launch a propaganda campaign nearly as effective.

A) Whether Al Qaeda wants us there or not, we should be there long enough to ensure that the new Iraqi government can at least survive without us there.

B) The total cost of Iraq can very well turn out to be less than the recent bailout. This is over a period of years and not

C) I didn't realize Murtha, Schumer, Obama, Biden, Kerry, et al were *supporting* our war efforts when they were badmouthing the troops, calling the war a lost cause, and using any setback or minor defeat as leverage to attack the Bush administration. It seems to me that slander and prosecution of the troops isn't supporting them at all.

D) We've been in Iraq for 5 1/2 years, not 7.

Of course the rich are getting screwed, and Obama just wants them to feel it harder. He wants to play Robin Hood and he makes that very clear. But how do human beings behave when something is taken from them based on how much they produce (income)? They cut back production. How do those same humans behave when something is given to them for nothing (or seemingly nothing)? They again stop working as hard.

Want to help the poor? Then make sure the economy is good. For a country like ours, that usually means keeping the government's dirty hands off of it as much as possible.

If they wanted us to win, then they'd suggest other winning strategies. Instead, more commonly they slander our military (Obama, Murtha, Schumer, Kerry, etc.) and send the message to us that everything we do is useless at best and downright evil at worst. They never try to play up our successes, instead using defeats and setbacks as political leverage. The few among them with guts actually try to cut off our funding.

Do you realize that there is absolutely nothing that even the most well funded enemy propaganda machine could do that would have nearly the same effect on morale as what our own "leaders" have said and done?

It's an idiotic statement from a weak politician. No big shock that McCain said it. Ideally, the whole tax system would be revamped; eliminate the income tax entirely and go for a consumption/sales tax. No one gets worried about special loopholes, and no one can claim unfairness.

Plus, with everyone paying the same percentage of their income out, hopefully more people will be more concerned with tax increases and government spending. Right now, it seems that poor/lower middle class folks are eager to tax the hell out of anyone they consider rich.

I am neither racist nor Republican, but can you seriously tell me that all the black people I've seen wearing Obama t-shirts are wearing them because they suddenly became interested in politics? The generally politically uninterested black person will likely vote for Obama because he's black; but those blacks who are informed in politics would probably be unlikely to shift sides because he's black.

There are good numbers women out there who support McCain because Palin is his running mate. Why is it crazy or racist to think there are good numbers of blacks who follow the same logic?

Well, I drank a six pack with a guy named Joe last night who is from an extremely small town named Onaga, Kansas last night (this is the literal truth BTW). I guess that means I know more than anyone what Joe Sixpack really wants, and in addition to more beer and more classic Nintendo games on his Wii. What he wants is to advance the conservative/libertarian agenda, through the use of force if necessary, lol.

Ok, so now that I'm done sharing that, I've gotta ask: how does one define a "working American"? Don't 95% of able-bodied Americans work regardless of their income? If my friend Joe became a millionaire tomorrow would he no longer enjoy six packs? Would he shun his town of 300? Is he somehow less authentic now that he wears a tophat and a monocle?

I'm living in what I consider a small town (population is 30-40k, does that count?), but I am not OF a small town. I don't think using the somewhat popular shorthand "well small town rural voters are more conservative" is necessarily condescending. It would be no different from saying big city voters generally vote more liberal, honestly. In both cases it's the truth.

Finally, do most media outlets often quote a candidate or other public figure's verbal pauses? I've been noticing it a lot with Palin lately, but can't recall the media quoting Obama's or even Bush's verbal pauses in text. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but if I'm not, it's definitely proof of a media conspiracy!
