I'll probably switch to this on my blogs, haven't had much time to blog lately though, working on building a couple products. Blogs are already social networks of their own - they allow comments from users, some have user profiles, forums, what more do you need to have a social network?

Blogging is just content publishing. Content publishing isn't going anywhere, especially in 300 to 1000 words +pictures/videos form. The only evolving I see blogs doing is further integrating with the big social networks so they can keep getting more and more traffic from them, and more more commenting features. Blogs, websites that get updated frequently, whatever you want to call them, are here to say.

Re: Why Your Best Posts Come From Most Simplified Places

I think simple and basic work because they have the largest potential audience. In the last few years, don't you think myspace and facebook have probably thought of every possible way to monetize, yet all they have thought of is ads, and they both don't make money as their traffic just isn't targeted enough(as opposed to search engines where people go to find solutions to their problems and thus are much more prone to buy). All this talk about waiting for the right moment and their ambitions being so big and such is a bunch of junk. if they could figure out a way to make good money they would launch it immediately.

Twitter still hasn't passed the 'fad' phase yet in my opinion. Their user retention rate is very low, and they offer so much less than facebook/myspaec. I don't really see how they could add many features either without becoming just another copycat social network.

Companies, and internet marketers, love twitter. But I think casual users of it will get bored with it quick and go back to good old facebook.

Google Wave is probably going to hurt twitter too, sure tweets will be fed into google wave, but twitter ads won't be(or however they decide to monetize, but theres a 99% chance I'd say that it will end up being ads).

Re: What is Boxee Announcing Tonight?
