Thanks for the comment Tony, great point on seeding in the right place.

Agreed on the MBP note, I've been using Apple products for 5+ years for everything from recording music to web programming to product designs, it's the only truly consistent and reliable multitasking tool I own to date.

Thanks for the share Ivan, you make a good point about these 7 items fitting a situation with big problems to resolve (speaking from experience ;)).

Yes, but:

1. rebooting takes a long time
2. when opening the apps for the first time again after rebooting, it will take some time to load

But yes, it is one way to clear out the cache.

Thanks Mario, I'm totally with you on the ease of recording today... I started with a Tascam 4-track cassette recording machine back when \i was like 16 years old (which was ginormous BTW ... and super expensive). But I don't regret going through all the different stages of recording, because now I am able to pick up new audio technology really quickly.

I used Logic fofr a while, great plugins but just couldn't stand the boxy, not-so-easy-to-use, gray interface... funny that it was designed by Apple... ;)

The MIDIMAN 49 is a pretty popular controller, you can actually use lots of software with that keyboard. Some software possibilities:

1. Propellorhead Reason
2. Steinberg Nuendo
3. Fruity Loops

Basically, when you hook that keyboard up to your computer via USB, you can use it to control any software instruments on your computer. Is your laptop a mac or PC?

I connect my Motif to the Mbox2 Mini via 1/4" cable (i.e. typical instrument cable) in order to record wave files in Pro Tools. MIDI works too, but if you eventually want to bounce your recording out of Pro Tools, you'll have to convert the MIDI tracks to wave tracks.
