It's quite odd to me how such a venom gives black widows the luxury of docility. I know for snakes it has much the opposite effect... Like giving a craven coward a gun and the inclination to use it.

Okay so that placement of creature? 99.99% chance of biting your new friend in half eventually, on accident. I injure the inside of my cheek so grievously at times, and I can actually feel that. Little buddy doesn't stand a chance.
