How to Choose the Best Power Supply for Your Pedalboard

Such a fan of the Truetone CS12. I found it looking for a supply that could power my WH1 whammy (it can!) and ended up with a great overall supply. Two 500ma outs, two 250ma outs, five switchable 9/12v outs and two 18v outs...plus a 4-9v sag-able out?! So freaking good!

Re:
Joe Bonamassa Calls Pedalheads "Lazy" in New Interview

There seem to be a few competing “get off my lawn” themes at work here :)

1- He’s just not “getting“ the boutique pedal flood. Looking at his old live rig vs his new, it’s evident he’s in a back-to-basics mode. I identify with this...there are a lot of effing pedals out and coming out right now, even choosing what goes on my board from my own relatively modest collection can be stressful! More time buying/testing/choosing/building boards is less time playing and perfecting your rig and technique. It’s overwhelming. There’s wisdom here. I still love pedals with a burning passion though.

2- Pedals that don’t sound like your guitar, too computerized or algorithmic, are bad. Not on board with this one personally, music and sounds evolve, we don’t have to love it all.

3- Guitar players who call themselves “soundscapists” upon playing poorly into crazy pedals. Do these people actually exist in a large enough group to warrant such a rebuke?? I don’t come across this a lot.

Seems like a great player blowing off steam about an emerging (and yeah, sometimes pretentious) trend. Don’t agree with all of it. But he’s earned the right to some gripes.

Write a song about it Joe! ;)

Re: Wet/Dry vs. Stereo: an Introduction

Dan and Mick just did a great vid on this! https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: Of a Kind - Know and Own

A beautiful touch that speaks volumes about the way Of a Kind operates. Great article and discussion here, thanks everyone.

Just wanted to jump in and get specific about one particular point that's currently close to my heart--that a community manager must be a 'good or great communicator.'

Having just hired for a supporting position on my team, I want to articulate the absolute imperative that community managers have a gift for psychology/empathy, and really above all else, that they know how to *write*. I'm talking sharp, clear writing with an ability to truly engage through internalizing community issues and addressing them directly, often requiring dramatic shifts in voice and tone across platforms, communities and topics.

We traffic in letters, a medium notoriously stubborn to nuance in any format, never mind in 140 characters or less! Representing a global brand 'informally' in a way that's authentic, but remains professional and drives success metrics, is a subtle art.

Community managers are part Mark Twain, part Dr. Drew, part Paris Hilton--they're not just communicators, they're receptive, social writers.

Re: Top 10 Twitter Trends This Week [CHART]

I dig these charts guys, but the descriptions of the trends are super dry! "Good Friday is a holiday observed primarily by Christians commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary." No bigz, just thought it was funny. :)

Re: List of Social Media Management Systems (SMMS)

Hey Jeremiah! The post planning feature is really nice to have because it allows more time for real time interaction and participation, which is the really meaningful part of a brand's presence on these channels. Both of the ones we're testing are flawed but certainly not critically, and they have ambitious product roadmaps.

Re: List of Corporate Social Media Strategists, Corporate Community Managers in 2010

Yes, I'm at the Times Sq offices.
