Oh good grief John. You are become so over-reactionary to everything.

If someone comes up with a holy grail of health care that isn't a "public option" then why shouldn't the White House listen to it? I wish people would stop confusing pragmatism with 'caving'. It makes them sound silly.

I also love how anonymous staffers carry so much more credibility than the President himself.

This same poll also cited that 54% of people are willing to pay higher taxes for it.

However, I think this poll is skewed left in the sample. The sample was something like 65-32 Obama voters vs. McCain voters.

I'm still not convinced that people really want to pay for a public option. They want one, but don't want to pay for it.

Rasmussen has a poll out showing 42-42 on the public option. Of course, he always over samples republicans and also has a poll showing that the public prefers the GOP on economic issues so I am not sure about his credibility either.

Even if he did apologize, I am 100% certain that you guys would parse it to no end to find something about it that you don't like...and rip for it.

Since that brief Obama has reiterated that he wants to repeal DOMA - you guys rips him for it.

Since that brief Obama has given you more rights than you had before - albeit trivial, but more...you guys rip him for it.

Since that brief Obama has put together time for him to address your community - you guys rip him for it because it's only 8 minutes. What in the hell would you want a week? Maybe an entire month of nothing but Obama and gay leaders?

He is your friend in this fight. Yes, he does need to constantly hear your voices, but you can't sit there and expect him to fight your fight when he already has 10 others going on.

That would be a stupid statement on his behalf. If a CBO report comes back on a non-public plan proposal that is cost effective and insures 30 million people he'd look like a dope having to back track.

Yes, a lot of people are 'counting on' this reform. There is no doubt. The problem is that NOBODY is willing to pay for it.

Even as high as the public option is polling, it's only polling high because people are assuming it'll be cost neutral. Most people think that we can just cut out a bit of fat from the federal budget and tax some fat cats and all will be paid for.

If people were asked "Would you be willing to pay a 2% federal sales tax for universal healthcare?" it would be a resounding no.

People want it, but they dont' want to pay for it. That seriously limits the options.

So when has Obama said he will not renegotiate NAFTA? When did he ever promise to do so in the first 5 months of his presidency?

When did Obama ever promise to "end the war immediately"? He always said that he'd consult with the generals.

I never once heard him talk about repealing the Patriot Act.

He has ended torture and the rendition program goes way the hell back before Bush.

Basically because he hasn't accomplished everything in 5 months he's a complete failure.
