That is ezactly what I needed to hear. So many so called prophets today are saying things that do not line up with the Word.

Re: US discord

Discord is back up folks! It is just what I needed to hear. I have unfortunately become "a church of one" and I really miss the fellowship of community.

Re: This may be the most powerful song you hear all year.

Wow Justin that was a very haunting song. He is a very talented young man and I can feel the pain in his words and voice. Yes the church has failed to be the place of safety and grace that God created it to be. I can relate to being abused and betrayed by the church. As a young seminary student and an associate pastor I approached my pastor with my inner conflicts for counseling and he manipulated me and seduced me. I am now a 54 year old Gay Christian and have resolved my faith and my orientation and have a wonderful partner of 19 years. But I can tell you that I really cannot find a church that teaches my understanding of the Gospel and does not condemn me because I am Christian and just happen to be gay. I am surrounded by Evangelical churches but cannot find a home. Thanks for sharing this blog and video.

Re: 5 minutes for $5

That is extra cool! It was well written and very insightful. Christians should not use their faith as a cloak for bigotry. Plain and simple.

Re: UZU Media's Blog | UZU Media

Gil, excellent article! I do like the trend of more precise searches with will ultimately make the net more useful and force us to build sites with richer content. I read the article about the low wages in Haiti and it just really concerns me. But how can I change things as a consumer and manage my budget. See my delima?

Re: RE: Marriage

John, I like your suggestion. Then my life partner of 15 years and I could get recognized for our commitment and get equal rights with our heterosexual counterparts. The church needs to get out of the business of politics and back into the business of building the Kingdom of God. Jesus said in John 18:36

36Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."

I applaud the idea of the contract of marriage being a civil thing and then the Church can approve or dissapprove of the joining without fighting against those who are different from them. I am a Christian, born again for 37 years, a former Southern Baptist pastor, but I am cast out of the kingdom because I am gay and love another man. Well, I am not cast out of God's Kingdom, just the Evangelical one.

Tim
