It's hard for me to say just which game I'm more excited about. The 300+ hours of gameplay on Elder Scrolls is pretty attractive. The minecraft will be fun, I hope it means I can stop worrying about running my own server.
I'm also a huge KOTOR fan, so The Old Republic looks good. Sadly I think it's PC only :(

I think Reddit will be fine. Though I wouldn't bother "debating" with Mr. LouF. I am starting to seriously think he has a google alert set up for Reddit so that he can leave negative comments on the news articles. You should google for "LouF" and Reddit sometime and check out all of the lovely comments he's left. Those grapes were already sour ;)

This campaign actually originated on Reddit.com, from a user who posted a request. Colbert is an active reddit user, he even mentioned on his show that the Reddit community had asked him to hold a rally.

It's a shame reddit didn't get any credit in this post, unless they aren't considered social media anymore.

I got a chance to meet one of the posterous developers are a social gathering, their method of handling their community was very interesting to me. Posterous has a very admirable and unique approach to their Community. It was refreshing to hear that the developers were getting down into the trenches and answering support mails and communicating with their community.

I wouldn't say "built around." Yes, twitter is a very common denominator amongst these startups and I wouldn't say that because these startups are a part of that cottage industry which has been built under twitter. It is more that, Twitter and Facebook has become a location of conversation. You can't ignore large mediums where conversations about your company or service are happening.

Not only that but if he were to own reddit I think that it would ruin it as a site. At least right now, the reddit admins seem to be able to keep the site clean of things that are obviously only beneficial to conde nast and left the content to that which is ONLY for the community.

I don't believe that under Huh's rule they'd be able to keep his entities out of reddit, and by that I mean forcefully promoted to the community (without the community's involvement).

I'm glad Conde isn't giving him the time of day.

A story like this moves me to absolute tears. Speaking as an individual who has a health care background in the military, I've witnessed better treatment given to insurgents in Iraq than this woman received here in the United States.

This article caused me to spend at least 30 minutes asking a friend in med school to brush up on transhealth issues so that he's prepared to care for them when he eventually gets his own practice.

This isn't just shameless plugging, but one of the things that I've noticed that makes for a quick blog post is using clp.ly.

I also am a contributor over at a gaming site (http://www.sfx-360.com/) and if there is some quick and hot news that I want to get out NOW NOW NOW, it makes it pretty easy. I also use it on top of Zemanta.

Chris, this is a really great article and Matt it was an interesting topic that you had originally brought up. I really don't feel that there is much wrong in approaching the dissatisfied customers of your competitors as long as it is done with a degree of style and tact.

I couldn't agree more with #1. I'm a Community Manager myself and I have found that above everything a love of your Community/Job and a great amount of patience and flexibility. If you don't love it and can't feel an ownership over the Community you're working with, you simply won't enjoy the job. For all of the work/time/effort it takes when you love your job it's a breeze and every amount of what you do satisfies you.
