Totally. I do ideally want to get a fixed at some point but I still would need my current bike to do all that fun climbing.

yeah, at first glance I was like wtf. But yeah it is totally a joke. It would be interesting though. You could totally drop body weight by replacing all your bones with carbon fiber bones.

Since I haven’t read the book I cannot say that I am familiar with the relationship that Florentino and Fermina have/had. What I can say from my experience though (with regard to your post) having come out of a serious relationship last September is that the more hurt that you have experienced in the past, the less likely you will be willing to risk everything/anything to win someone else’s heart. If you’ve already laid it all out in the past only to have it fail then how much more should somebody have to extend themselves in order to have a chance at winning somebody else over. This could just be the case for me recently not wanting to risk everything or more so not having found that person really worth fighting for, but to be honest I don’t see myself making that push for anyone that I don’t fall absolutely head over heels for. Also, while I don’t see myself settling for what’s easy/convenient I would imagine that there has to be some sense of security for going what’s easy since there is no risk for what you have invested. At least with going after something that is easy/convenient you know that you are good enough for it so there is very little that you have to protect.

While I can’t say that any of this is in any way insightful, it is what first came to mind when I read your post.

I have these tires on my bike right now. They are amazing. I have had them on for about a year and a half and have only had one flat. Probably going on about 1750-2000 miles on them also.
