(spoiler) Since the woman was around longer, she was supposed to be stronger than he was. We actually see her be stronger than he is. Until it came down to the big fight scene. Then somehow she gets hurt as easily as a fly and he miraculously gets better and saves the day.

Thank Maude! I was worried the woman might have to save the day.

Meanwhile, as far as Kennedy trying for the seat:

We do know what she stands for.
We do know she can articulate said beliefs.
We do know she can effectuate those beliefs.

How is this bad or different than politicians? It could be argued that political experience is overrated. It's politicians, afterall, who have given us the DC we have today.

Oh, Kennedy was absolutely considered "hot". His good looks changed politics forever - for he and Nixon debated on TV for the first time and voters could see how strong and healthy Kennedy looked compared to pale and sweaty Nixon. It's largely believed Kennedy's looks is what hurt Nixon the most.
