Nice response. BS because it's a lie or didn't agree with your viewpoint? Feel free to send exact rebuttle facts. I noticed you didn't have anything to back up your point. It's always very noticeable.

What a waste of time this was considering how open minded you are. Later...

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

There are some concepts and resulting affects on people that I can agree with in general in 1984 but that book (just like almost any other) is an exageration of reality to one extent or another. Perspective plays a big part.

Not sure what you're trying to say here but I agree that the the government can't support healthcare because we don't have the money. My concern is what the result would be if we DID have it.

Anyway, my basic point is that this country became great from the effort and opportunity of individuals. Government solves very few problems and has very few places it is effective. Do we need them, yes. Some overall, general regulations that do not get in the way of the people are required. Some see government as security, others see it as a hinderance. It's just a different point of view.

Either way I want everyone to have a job, support themselves and family, be able to afford a nice life, etc. When we allow government to be relied on for these things, people become less "motivated." Some people begin to rely on the security and there's nothing wrong with that but you have to consider where that security comes from and what it "costs" (not monetarily).

All I am asking is that you and others could give some consideration to the possibilities from the "other side." That's how I ended up on this site... trying to understand. It's not intended to change your mind because it probably never could. It's intended to try to understand why people have the views they do. There's no need to vilify either point of view. I don't hold "left" thinking as evil, I just disagree with that perspective.

So I guess we went to Afghanistan for the drugs? What? Losing me there, dude.

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

Well, I didn't realize Michael Moore is the agreed upon "standard" for the healthcare debate or I would have been Moore prepared. The guy is an opportunist and goes to prove a point he's already decided on... real talented guy.

Anyway, here is some information and a little dose of reality. Dude, the land of butterflies and lollipops just doesn't exist. Here is some information from the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and others.

http://online.wsj.com/artic...

http://www.washingtonpost.c...

http://newsbusters.org/blog...

http://www.businessandmedia...

Michael Moore is not what anyone could consider a non-biased source. By the way, go find your own sources and let me know what the cancer survival rates are in the US versus other countries. There's a big reason people of Canada AND Europe come HERE for medical treatment, we don't go there.

All of this aside, there is a limit to the amount of money you can take from the "rich people" (like MICHAEL MOORE who's waterbill alone at his mansion is $22K per year).

Michael Moore is not the issue but I guess I still "don't have a clue" what I'm talking about. Does it really sound like I don't have a clue?

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

Not at all bitterly divided, no. Look at all the cities, towns and states that are running deficits and/or in danger on bankruptcy. Then of those, look at the ones doing the worst. Virtually all run for years by the democrats. Why is there such a difference? I'm sure the conservatives caused this somehow in your mind.

Okay... LOL

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

I'll have to defer on that question until I get a chance to see it. I'll try one more time to sit through it, maybe I'll check it out on Youtube. LOL

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

I must have misunderstood. The video doesn't relate to rejections, it relates right back to the "not covered" number of 50million. You can tell any story you want with stats, for example: of the 50 million, 12-15 million of those are in this country illegally and drain that healthcare system that they don't have coverage for but are treated anyway, by law. There are an estimated 24-26 million people who CHOOSE not to take healthcare they have available, mostly because they are young and feel paying for this is a waste. What's that mean? Maybe 15-20 million people don't have healthcare due to other circumstances? One of those is an estimated 8-10 million that are continually between jobs and health plans. Access is really not the problem and nobody can be denied treatment in this country already, again by law.

Cash for clunkers? You feel that spending $900mm of a $1 billion program on overhead is an example of an efficient program? Not to mention they didn't even come close to estimating the amount of money it would take. You will see a similar situation with healthcare I promise. Did it cause a rush in selling cars? There I definitely agree with you, it did. But at what cost and by doing what? Giving taxpayers their money back to buy a car... HELLO!! What happens to the car industry in September when this program is gone?

Sorry, we just differ on what drives what. Regardless, even if I disagree with you I still have respect for your opinion. Take care.

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

Okay dude, you had me interested in this for a while but now you're heading off the reservation.

You need to consider that the poor stay "poorer" because of democratic policies. Look at virtually every large city and any state in the world that are and have been run by democrats. They are FAILING. They cannot sustain anything but promises while keeping people in their "place."

I'm not sure why I'm continuing with this because I seriously don't think you could even consider that a possibility.

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

Honestly, I couldn't sit through it. I did try but it was just too much. Michael Moore has been proven to be so incredulously wrong in the way he portrays certain event's that I can't watch the crap. It would be like me asking you to watch a Rush Limbaugh movie.

And while on that topic, I don't care for all the hype any of these media guys put out whether it's him, Hannity, Schultz, Rhodes or whoever. They have to make ratings and they do it with hype, all of them. I listen to all these people, and others, at times and try to pull out the basis of what they're saying and where they're coming from rather than the hype.

I just feel people need to be reponsible for themselves and must be allowed to fail, and succeed. Cruel? Maybe so, but just MAYBE it's more cruel in the long run NOT to let them fail. Do you really feel there is no consequence to this? That is hasn't lead to a number of problems we're dealing with today?

Nobody guaranteed anyone success in this life and I don't understand where this idea came from that things like healthcare are a "right." This is the greatest country in the world and that's why people risk their lives to get here in many cases. They come here (legally), work hard and the vast majority succeed just fine.

Have you ever considered that MAYBE the government only cares about giving people something that secures their vote to keep them in power? I'm sure that's not possible in the mind of a liberal but at some point or another down the road, that's exactly what happens.

Good luck with the future and I DO wish you and every American the best.

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

Well, there's something we can agree on. They all allow themselves to be bought and paid for. To bad these politicians no longer go to Washington for the actual good of the country.

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

A better translation would have been The_US_Capitalist, actually. And I didn't tend to be a Republican, I WAS a Republican. George Bush and the congress changed my mind with their spending practices. Maybe you should consider trying that some time. The possibility of changing you mind...

Dude, 1 in 4? You'er kidding right? I guess it depends on how you look at things but I'd like to know where you got some comprehensive studay that supports those numbers.

Are insurance companies a pain to deal with? Hell yes! It seems to be a typical practice with them to initially reject everything they can and hope YOU pay it. I know it's so terrible that you might have to call them but 98% of the things I've had rejected are easily resolved with a phone call. Should it be that way, no.

What kills me is you want to call me an idiot for having an opinion and then go on down the exact path I predicted in the context I started with. Typical...

What you need to start considering is that the government just MIGHT not be able to handle this. I'm not telling you facts of what the future will bring, I'm telling you the possibilities. After all, they did such a great job on something supposedly as simple as the cash for clunkers program. A $9mm website??? WTF? They ran out of money in FOUR DAYS and out of a billion dollars only $100mm went to the trade-ins? That's pretty efficient...

All the best to ya!

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

No, no... I never intended to imply that you did at all. I actually got a chuckle from your response. Not a condesending chuckle, but more like two people having a conversation. It was just the approach I decided to take in this blog in general and only brought up because conservatives seem to be painted as racist (among the other concepts mentioned) by liberal-leaning thinking.

You see, everything I say will be explained away by one of the points I tried to hit up front. It's very hard to convince people that what I am writing is the truth. It's almost like it can't be believed... So all I can ask is for anyone reading this to consider the possibility that every word is true. I can't ask for anything more.

Thanks for the response Willie. Believe it or not, I'm actually TRYING to understand all sides of this issue and others and regardless of my opinion. If I wasn't I would have never made it to this site. I DO respect the opinion of every citizen. Some more than others, even on the "left."

I wish you and everyone else the VERY best on this issue going forward.

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

Oh yeah, they sure did. I'm just rolling in it...

The only difference is that I wouldn't write a supportive liberal response for twice of whatever money I was paid to write this.

I also want the air and water to be polluted, the children to starve and all the homeless freeze in the winter. Did I forget to mention I'm a racist also? Yep, the only racist conservative in the world that has had a black doctor for over 20 years, taking care of myself and my children since they were born. But you can explain that away because I'm lying about that, too. Typical conservative...

Re: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?p=71699

First, I don't work for the healthcare OR insurance industry nor am I any longer a member of ANY political party. I know, most of you won't believe that (I'm actually a plant for Fox News) but I'm sticking to that statement until I receive my check from any of them. I won't hold my breath... I've seen the sad stories about healthcare being declined in relatively few cases and they are truly unfortunate; HOWEVER, just wait until the government starts rejecting healthcare in certain situations. Who will you blame then?

The main problem is that the questions people are asking at these town hall meetings are not being answered. They're asking where these situations (the details) are even spelled out in the bill. You want them to blindly trust the government to run something this complicated? No answers, no details and you wonder why the conservative minded CITIZENS of this country are getting more active when you normally never hear anything from them? Now they're being vilified for voicing their opinions/concerns? I'm sure the liberal side would sit there and be quiet if the roles were reversed. Oh, please...

Separate out the insurance companies and attack them to support your position. What does how much money they make have anything to do with you other than it not YOURS? The vast majority of you will never understand what it takes for a company to get to the point of profitability. Do you know they invest (RISK) their money, in some cases putting up their own homes as collateral to get started? Then they expand and they put up their profits and balance sheets. They work between 12 and 18 hours a day in order to make money and support more employees at the same time. All this time these people are constantly (believe it or not) very concerned and worried about the responsibility (don't forget that word) they have to each of their employees and their families. You don't believe that because you just "don't get it" and never will.

What is the compensation for the head of Fannie Mae? Over $3 MILLION dollars and that "company" is NOT even profitable but where is your outrage on this point? This company would be out of business except for the government appendage there to support it. A total joke.

Be careful... All of these companies that are making all these "ridiculous profits" (a truly terrifying phrase) are paying the vast majority of the money to support your government run programs. They're also buying the products (OMG, not a yacht!!) that cause people to be, here's another dirty word, employed. You should be figuring out how to make MORE companies profitable so they can expand, employ more people and yes, pay more taxes. How much did United Healthcare pay the government in taxes? Attack these industries one by one until there are none left to pay the taxes you need to sustain these government programs.

At what point can you take "enough" from a company or someone else's profits? Is Oprah making too much money at well over $200 MILLION a year? Why is nobody attacking her or Barbara Streisand or anyone else making tons of money in the entertainment industry (as an example)? Where does it end? How is it you feel entitled to someone else's money? Should I just turn over my check and depend on the government? Wait, why work for a check in the first place if someone takes my profits to "spread the wealth" and solve all the world's (and our) problems? Simply unsustainable...

And no, I don't hate people with this view, I just feel sorry for where that mentality has and will lead all of us and this country. I truly wish all of us the best.
