OK i finnaly figured everything out.

To do this hack first you must know some things about your IPod/IPhone.

1. ~YOUR MODEL NUMBER~
On your i device got to 'Settings>General>About', scroll down untill you find Model. If the first two digits begin with MB keep following me if it starts with MC... Get lost because apparently Geo Hotz hates you!

2.~YOUR DEVICE~
This hack will work for IPhone 1G, 2G and 3G. For IPod Touch its 1G and 2G.
If you have IPhone 3Gs or IPod Touch 3G you are not able to do this.

Why?

3Gs: This will upgrade your Baseband and screw up you Phone.
IPT: It will teather your ipod. When you run out of batterie or turn your IPod off you will have to ra1n it again. No know fix (That i know).

Now:
-Disable Auto Syncing in

-Kill all ITunes processes in Task Manager. (ITunesHelper, IPodservice, ect..)

-Plug in your IPod and press Make it ra1n.

-Geo Hotz will appear on your device and it will then reload.

Done.

Believe me this works.

I have hacked a total of 11 IPods and Phones.

For those of you with MC try to downgrade to 3.0, redsn0w it then use a custom .ISPW to get a hacked 3.1.1 or 3.1.2!

Or just wait for redsn0w to update to 3.1.2.

Purplera1n unlocks iphones. This means it stops them from only being able to use a certian sevice provider.

So this is useless for an IPT.

Nope, i have the Touch 8GB 3.1.2 and i have tried everything:

-Disable Auto Syncing in
-Compatibility Mode (Running Vista)
-Killing all ITunes processes in Task Manager
-Even running it on XP Professional
